A day of battles, legends, and Scotland’s fight for freedom, told the Saltire way.
If you love Scottish history, the real stuff, not just the Hollywood bits, this tour is right up your street.
I’ll collect you from your hotel, cruise ship, airport, or wherever you’re starting, and we’ll head out in either my luxury Mercedes V‑Class or BMW 7 Series. Both are built for comfort, so you can relax while I guide you through the landscapes where Scotland’s greatest heroes made their mark.
This is a day filled with stories of courage, rebellion, and the men who shaped Scotland’s destiny: William Wallace and King Robert the Bruce.
Battle of Falkirk
Our first stop takes us to the site of the Battle of Falkirk, where Wallace faced overwhelming odds. I’ll walk you through what happened, why it mattered, and separate a bit of fact from the film version.
Bannockburn Visitor Centre
Next, we head to Bannockburn, where Robert the Bruce secured one of Scotland’s most famous victories. The visitor centre brings the battle to life, and the surrounding landscape still carries the weight of history.
Stirling Castle & the Battle of Stirling Bridge
We’ll visit Stirling Castle, a royal stronghold perched high above the city, and explore the area around the Battle of Stirling Bridge, where Wallace pulled off one of the most brilliant tactical victories in Scottish history.
Wallace Monument
Then it’s on to the Wallace Monument, standing proudly on Abbey Craig. You can climb to the top if you fancy the challenge, or enjoy the views from below while I share more of Wallace’s story.
Dunfermline Abbey
We finish in Dunfermline, the ancient capital of Scotland and the burial place of Robert the Bruce. It’s a peaceful, atmospheric spot, the perfect place to reflect on the legacy of Scotland’s warrior king.
After a day of legends, landscapes, and proper Scottish storytelling, we’ll head back to Edinburgh.
A wee note about flexibility
Nothing on this tour is set in stone. If you want to spend longer somewhere, skip a stop, add a detour, or grab a coffee with a view — just say. It’s your day, and I’m here to make it exactly what you want.
