This Bronx Day trip is definitely a Martz passenger favorite.
We’re headed to the Bronx Zoo, one of the most popular zoos in the Northeast with some free time in New York City’s other Little Italy.
With more than 265 acres to explore, the Bronx Zoo houses more than 10,000 animals and features more than 20 exhibits including the Congo Gorilla Forest, Children’s Zoo and Butterfly Garden.
Watch the lemurs frolic at the Madagascar Exhibit or take a ride on the monorail through the Wild Asia area. Enjoy the House of Darkness, which was reopened last year to house nocturnal creatures like vampire bats, sloths, sand cats and mole rats.
You’ll see big bears, small rodents along with sea lions, reptiles and exotic birds.
Afterwards, we’ll stop at Little Italy on Arthur Avenue where you are on your own to have dinner, grab a slice of pizza, pick up homemade specialties at the bakeries or browse around an Italian delicatessen.
