Alex Ecklin – Masterskya Co-Founder, 2nd Degree Black Belt
Alex Ecklin is a 3rd -degree Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Black Belt under Vitor “Shaolin” Ribeiro and a decorated competitor with medals in IBJJF Worlds, Europeans, No-Gi Pans (Brown Belt), American Nationals, and multiple IBJJF International titles. At Black Belt Masters, he’s claimed gold at No-Gi Pans and the Atlanta No-Gi Open.
Beyond the competition mats, Alex has left an undeniable mark on the New York Jiu-Jitsu scene as the co-founder of Masterskya, a thriving academy known for its inclusive vibe and high-level training. He’s built more than a gym—he’s created a community where people grow, push limits, and keep coming back for more.
Renowned as an undercover BJJ genius, Alex is both an innovator and technician. He’s the creator of the “G-Roll” attack system, featured on BJJ Fanatics and The Grapplers Guide, where his ability to simplify complex movements has gained him a loyal following. Kitesurf - Swimsuit
Excursion - Hiking shoes are suggested, Light Jacket or wind Braker, Small waterproof bag.
General - Causal 70 degree to 80 degree weather during the day. Mid 60's degree in the evening.
Shoes - sneakers, Crocs, Sandals, slip-ons are suggested.

Each session includes all necessary equipment, a thorough safety protocol, kite handling in the water, and board rescue techniques. - Kitesurf Rental: Already know your way around? Rent gear and hit the water – $120/all day
Our certified IKO instructors will give you a safe introduction to the sport of kitesurfing in Calima, a world-renowned kitesurfing location with constant winds all year round.
For an additional cost, you can add a once-in-a-lifetime kitesurfing experience to your reservation.
