About this trip

caiman Eco-Lodge is at one of the best spots in the reserve, really close to  the Laguna Grande and reachable by canoe all year long, not depending  on the season. The Lodge accommodates up to 40 people in three  individual guest huts; each hut has 2 – 4 double or triple bedrooms (as  required)  each with its own private bathroom and shower. There is also a  relaxing area, hammocks and an amazing tower (3 floors are fit with  triple rooms as those mentioned above) with a great view over the lagoon  and the jungle from the 7th top floor. All our guests are assisted by  an accredited naturalist guide and licensed canoe driver.

We had the most amazing stay at Tucán Lodge. It was our first time in the Amazon and it couldn’t have been better! The staff were lovely, served us amazing food and Carlos our guide, was extremely knowledgeable and managed to spot almost every species possible. Despite only going on the 4-day 3-night trip, we managed to see 8 of the 10 monkey species, macaws, pink river dolphins and even sloths. I still can’t believe how fortunate we were with everything we saw. I cannot recommend this lodge highly enough. We only wish we could have stayed longer. Thank you so much for having us - I am sure we will all be back at some point!!

As a solo traveler I appreciate the right balance of being looked after without excessive restriction. Our driver and guide hit the mark. Ricardo (driver) was approachable, accommodating, and attentive. Gerado (guide) skillfully navigated every detail from pickup to drop-off. His knowledge of local geography and culture was inspiring. He was a warm host and impressive guide. Thank you for a memorable Cotopaxi adventure.

Highly recommend CarpeDM day trip to Quilotoa; our guide was Dario, very informative and accommodating. we chose a private guide and therefore did not need to meet a group at 7:30 am to begin our day. Instead, we chose to start at 9 and still had plenty of time to enjoy a hike down to the bottom of the crater and kayak around the lake. Lunch was excellent. Even w a generous tip, the cost for the 2 of us was less than the price of a group tour that did not include lunch. we chose CarpeDM after reading positive reviews. we heartily concur. everything about the experience was positive.

The trip was fantastic. I would highly recommend. The activities we did gave us a great insight into the culture and wildlife of the Amazon. Our guide, Carlos, was brilliant and very insightful. The accommodation and food provided was all great too. The only negative worth mentioning is the overnight bus at the beginning of the trip is pretty bad compared to other overnight buses across South America, which means you arrive very tired. For the money we’re paying you would hope for something better.
