How it works

The Cairns Liveaboard Volunteer Programme

This experience can be longer than the 4 days and 3 nights if you wish. The longer you stay as a guest the longer you can add on to stay as a volunteer.

For the 4 day 3 night Cairns Liveaboard Volunteer Programme experience you must be a paying guest for at least 1 night (2 day 1 night package including 6 certified dives).

If you wish to experience a longer stay then you simply book a longer guest experience.

For example, if you book a 3 day 2 night guest package (includes 10 certified dives) you can stay on as a volunteer for an additional 3 nights. Your total stay would be 6 days and 5 nights.

If you book a 4 day 3 night guest package (includes 14 certified dives) you can stay on as a volunteer for an additional 4 nights. Your total stay would be 8 days and 7 nights.

Please ask us about prices and any more information you would like.

Volunteer Duties & Roles

Volunteer Duties & Roles image

Cairns Liveaboard Volunteer Programme

The duties are helping set tables for breakfast, lunch and dinner, cleaning cabins, communal areas and helping in the kitchen. It is a very relaxed working environment as duties go right throughout the day meaning there is no real serious deadlines and there is a good number of full time staff to get the jobs done.

In reward of the work there is water time. This is when you can snorkel or scuba dive. All of the equipment is included and air fills for divers too. There is a minimum of 2 dives per day (early morning and another day dive) plus a chance of the night dive (just check with staff that it isn’t too busy). You will also get the chance to snorkel. Don’t forget… you get to see the sunrise and sunset too… wow!
