About this trip

Join us for an unforgettable 11-night adventure through Cambodia, where cultural discovery, genuine connection and meaningful impact come together to create a journey that truly gives back.

This carefully curated tour is designed for both first‑time and returning travellers, blending iconic Cambodian experiences with immersive community engagement and ample space to reflect, connect and explore.

Begin in Phnom Penh

Our journey begins in Phnom Penh, Cambodia’s vibrant capital, where the group comes together over welcome drinks and dinner, setting the tone for the experience ahead.

New guests are gently introduced to Cambodia’s recent history and resilient spirit, while returning guests enjoy the flexibility of a choose‑your‑own experience. The day concludes with a colourful street art experience and a relaxed sunset river cruise, the perfect way to see the city and connect as a group.

Continue to Siem Reap

Travelling overland to Siem Reap - the heart of our community work - the pace slows, and the journey deepens. A traditional monk blessing marks the beginning of this chapter, followed by an energetic Amazing Race‑style challenge through the streets of Siem Reap, building friendships and shared memories along the way.

From here, the experience becomes deeply personal. Guests spend meaningful time with our sister charity ABCS & Rice, take part in a unique reverse tuition day, and join one of the most loved moments of the tour - our annual school excursion that gives local children a once‑in‑a‑lifetime experience, while offering travellers an unforgettable day of connection and joy.

Throughout your stay, there is a balance of guided experiences and free time, allowing space to rest, explore or reflect.

Iconic Experiences & Community Connection

Highlights include a sunrise visit to the Angkor Wat archaeological park, a hands‑on cooking class and market tour, an inspiring evening at Phare Circus, and a visit to Pisets Village for our Lunches with Love program and time spent with sponsored families.

A choose‑your‑own adventure day allows everyone to tailor an experience that aligns with their interests, whether cultural, adventurous, impact‑focused or restorative, before coming together for a heartfelt farewell dinner to reflect on the journey shared.

Currency

In Cambodia, both the US Dollar (USD) and the local currency, the Riel, are used interchangeably, but it’s important to understand a few things about how they work.

The USD:
The US Dollar is the dominant currency and is widely accepted for most transactions across the country. Many businesses price their goods and services in USD, especially in tourist areas. ATMs often dispense USD, and you’ll find that most transactions, even small ones, will be conducted in this currency.

The Riel:
The Cambodian Riel (KHR) is used for smaller denominations, and in rural areas, you might see it used more frequently. The exchange rate is roughly $1 USD = 4000 Riel. You’ll often receive Riel as change if you pay in USD, but for convenience, it’s best to use it up while you’re in the country, as Riel can’t be exchanged once you leave Cambodia.

Tip for Travelers:
To make life easier, try to use your Riel for smaller purchases like snacks, transportation, or tips. Keep some on hand, but make sure you don’t have too much left when you leave, as it won’t be useful anywhere else.

By understanding both currencies and how to use them effectively, you can enjoy your time in Cambodia without confusion and make the most of your travel experience!

You may choose to relax at the hotel, enjoy a massage, visit a café, wander local markets, or explore the town at your own pace. Siem Reap offers an abundance of experiences, from cultural landmarks and social enterprise cafés to shopping, spas and hidden local gems.

For Returning Guests: Special Charity Project Day (Days 5, 6 & 7)

For our returning guests, the next three days offers something truly special.

You’ll spend three days working on a dedicated charity project, specifically designed for those who have previously attended one of our charity tours. Today perfectly reflects the heart of this journey — offering choice, flexibility and depth, while ensuring every guest feels supported and connected. Reverse Tuition Day at ABCS & Rice

Today marks a special day as we visit ABCS and Rice, a Cambodian-based charity school, where our very first rice run began. This year, we’ve transitioned to a new program called Reverse Tuition, and you’ll get the opportunity to see it in action. It’s a powerful day of giving back and supporting the children and families of Cambodia.

Activities for the Day:

  • Visit to ABCS and Rice:

    • Spend the day at ABCS and Rice, a school that provides quality education to children in need. You’ll be involved in distributing food as part of our Reverse Tuition program, where children receive rice based on their school attendance. The better their attendance, the more rice they earn, ensuring they remain in school and aren't forced to work instead of learning.

    • In addition, we’ll also be providing food for our permanently sponsored families, who receive monthly food support. You’ll see how this vital assistance helps families stay nourished and sustain themselves throughout the month.

  • Reverse Tuition Program:

    • Learn about the Reverse Tuition program in action, where we incentivize regular school attendance with rice. This unique program encourages children to attend school consistently and prevents them from having to drop out to work.

  • Visit Kid Care Medical Clinic:

    • Drop in and view Kid Care, our medical clinic located at the school, where children and families have access to much-needed health services. This clinic is an essential part of the school’s mission to provide holistic support to its community.

Your involvement in distributing food and meeting the families and children benefiting from these programs will give you a deeper understanding of the impact your support is having on education and healthcare in Cambodia.

Evening: Free Time

  • Join your tour buddies and directors for a meal at one of our favourite restaurants, or feel free to explore on your own. We will happily recommend one of our favourite restaurants if you need assistance.

Meals Included:

  • Breakfast: Enjoy at the hotel to start your day.

  • Lunch: Join the Directors for lunch after a morning of Reverse Tuition

Transport Included:

  • Transport for return guests to/from Reverse Tuition
