About your trip

Camel Trekking in Wadi Rum: A Journey Through Time

Set against a backdrop of towering sandstone mountains, red sand dunes, and ancient rock inscriptions, camel trekking in Wadi Rum offers an unforgettable adventure. Guided by local Bedouins, whose ancestral knowledge of the land runs deep, you’ll explore narrow gorges, natural arches, and open plains that have barely changed for centuries.

As you sway gently atop a camel, you’ll feel the rhythm of the desert — peaceful, timeless, and hauntingly beautiful. The Bedouin guides share stories passed down through generations, brew tea over open fires, and may even lead you to camp under a blanket of stars.

A Meditative Journey Through Wadi Rum

Camel Trekking with Bedouin Guides | Full-Day Desert Experience

Step away from the modern world and into the timeless silence of the Wadi Rum desert, where every footstep in the sand carries centuries of wisdom. This camel trek, guided by local Bedouins, is more than a tour — it’s a return to simplicity, stillness, and soul.

Morning Camel Walk & Ride (3 Hours)

As the sun rises over the red mountains, begin your day with a peaceful 3-hour camel journey through canyons, open valleys, and rock formations shaped by wind and time. Let the rhythmic sway of the camel calm your mind as you breathe in the dry, fragrant desert air.

🍲 Midday Lunch with Bedouin Hosts

Pause beneath the shade of an acacia tree or a red stone overhang, where your Bedouin guides prepare a traditional lunch over hot coals. Sip sweet mint tea, listen to stories of nomadic life, and rest in the sacred silence of the desert.

Evening Camel Ride & Walk (3 Hours)

As the light softens and the desert turns golden, set off again for another 3-hour trek, walking or riding alongside your camel. This is a time for reflection, connection, and awe as the landscape shifts with the fading sun.

Sleep Under the Stars or in a Bedouin Camp

As night falls, choose to sleep beneath a sky ablaze with stars, wrapped in blankets near the fire — or find comfort in an authentic Bedouin desert camp, with traditional tents and warm hospitality. Either way, the desert’s deep stillness offers rest unlike any other.

1 Day is dedicated to explore Wadi Rum on a 4x4 Desert Tour – A Journey Through Time and Sand

Embark on an unforgettable 4x4 desert adventure through Wadi Rum, one of Jordan’s most iconic landscapes. Known as the "Valley of the Moon", this protected area blends striking natural beauty with deep historical roots — from Lawrence of Arabia to the Nabateans, and the rich traditions of the Bedouin people.

Highlights of the Tour:

  • The Red Desert: Start your journey surrounded by towering sandstone cliffs and the rich, red sands that give this area its dramatic character.

  • Lawrence of Arabia’s Legacy: Visit the Lawrence Spring and places where T.E. Lawrence left his mark during the Arab Revolt. Hear stories that connect myth and history.

  • Nabatean Petroglyphs: Discover ancient rock inscriptions left by the Nabateans, the same civilization that built Petra. These carvings tell tales of trade routes and desert life.

  • Bedouin Culture: Experience authentic Bedouin hospitality — drink sweet mint tea by the fire in a traditional goat-hair tent, and learn about their customs and survival skills.

  • Natural Wonders:

    • Small Arch and Umm Fruth Rock Bridge: Iconic photo spots where you can climb or simply marvel at nature’s architecture.

    • Mushroom Rock: A surreal stone formation shaped by centuries of wind and sand.

    • Valleys and Canyons: Traverse narrow gorges and vast open valleys like Khazali Canyon, rich in both natural beauty and historic carvings.

  • Sunset Over the Dunes: End your day with panoramic views as the sun dips below the horizon, painting the desert in shades of gold and crimson.
