About this trip

This is not a standard Camino walk—and it’s not designed to be.

Join us for a thoughtfully guided journey along the Finisterre and Muxía Way, where mindful walking, gentle yoga, and quiet moments of reflection are woven into each day.

We begin in Santiago and walk west toward the Atlantic, ending at both Finisterre and Muxía—two places long associated with closure, renewal, and a deeper sense of connection.

This small-group retreat is personally guided by Laura and Sarah, with carefully selected accommodations and supportive guidance throughout.

If you’re feeling the pull, we’d love for you to join us.

Finisterre and Muxia Way Retreat

For centuries, pilgrims have followed this path west from Santiago to the Atlantic. For some, it is a continuation of a longer journey. For others, it is the beginning.

At Finisterre, once considered the “end of the world,” the land meets the sea in a way that is both dramatic and grounding. Here, you’ll receive your Fisterrana, marking your arrival at Finis Terrae.

From there, we continue to Muxía, known for its quiet, reflective energy along the coast. We’ll gather for a special evening to honor the experience before receiving your Muxiana.

We return to Santiago de Compostela with a deeper connection to the path—and to ourselves.

Stages

Finisterre & Muxía Way
October 4–13, 2026

October 4 – Arrival in Santiago de Compostela

We will greet you at Santiago–Rosalía de Castro Airport (SCQ) and transfer to our hotel in Santiago de Compostela.

After settling in, we’ll gather for a late lunch and formal welcome before enjoying some free time to explore the historic old town. We’ll turn in early in preparation for our first walking day.

Stage 1: Santiago → Negreira

21 km (13 miles)

We leave Santiago and walk through pine and eucalyptus forests, small hamlets, and over Roman bridges on our way to Negreira.

Stage 2: Negreira → Santa Mariña

20 km (12.5 miles)

A beautiful mix of wooded paths and open countryside. We pass small Galician villages, stone granaries, pastureland, and rolling terrain as the landscape begins to shift.

Stage 3: Santa Mariña → O Logoso

16 km (10 miles)

A shorter day — and a meaningful one. For the first time, the Atlantic appears in the distance. A powerful moment for many pilgrims.

Stage 4: O Logoso → Cee

18 km (11 miles)

We cross San Pedro Mártir Hill before descending toward the coast. The anticipation builds as we move closer to the sea.

Stage 5: Cee → Finisterre

12 km (7.5 miles) + optional 3 km climb to the lighthouse

We follow the Atlantic coastline, with sweeping views, cliffs, and wild beaches. In Finisterre, we’ll visit the famed lighthouse at the “end of the world” — a symbolic place of completion for pilgrims.

Stage 6: Finisterre → Lires

13 km (8 miles)

Ocean views continue along this quieter stretch of the Camino. Lires, our stop for the night, is a small coastal village known for its peaceful beaches.

Stage 7: Lires → Muxía

15 km (9 miles)

Our final walking day takes us through small hamlets and toward the fishing village of Muxía. We’ll visit the sanctuary of Nosa Señora da Barca overlooking the Atlantic — a place rich in symbolism and tradition.

October 12 – Return to Santiago

After a final morning in Muxía, we transfer back to Santiago de Compostela for our last evening together.

October 13 – Departure

We will transfer you to Santiago Airport (SCQ) for your flight home.
