About this trip
Immerse yourself in stunning scenery, iconic wildlife, and exceptional culture on the Camp Concepts 2024 Kenya Experience Purpose Trip. The journey will begin after arrival in Nairobi, as you venture through the Great Rift Valley to Nakuru. In the Lake Nakuru area, you will enjoy game drives within Lake Nakuru National Park for wildlife sightings. From Nakuru, the tour will depart for Kisii, which will be the access point to Nyanchonori Village. Campers will engage with the community to make lasting personal connections with locals, as well as participate in a meaningful project to leave Nyanchonori better than when we found it. After our village experience, the tour departs for the Maasai Mara reserve, which offers the best game viewing in all of Kenya. After a safari adventure, we will return to Nairobi for our flight back to the US.
Last year's Purpose Trip was a great success. The Global Connections Foundation worked with 5 schools, providing them with over 70 uniforms, school supplies, and sanitary supplies for girls. We also planted 72 trees in Nyanchonori Village to control erosion and provide shade. Additional village improvements that we made were re-painting chalk boards and repairing a kitchen. This trip provides the opportunity to continue our great work in Raising the Village, while providing a once in a life time Kenyan safari adventure.
The flight departs JFK at 1:45pm on July 3, arriving in Nairobi on July 4 at 10:30am. The flight from Nairobi to JFK departs Nairobi at 11:35pm on July 11, arriving in JFK at 7:35am on July 12.
