About this trip

Celebrate celestial occurrences such as meteor showers, lunar eclipses, as well as holiday weekends and family celebrations. These occasions provide an opportunity for friends and family to come together and enjoy memorable moments.

Adventure into a side of Baja California Sur that few travellers get to experience. As you leave the turquoise blue waters and the white sandy beaches of the coastline, reach to the sky and you will discover a true natural treasure: Campamento Rancho Ecológico El Refugio in the San Dionisio Canyon of the Sierra de la Laguna mountains. Camp San Dionisio by Panterra is situated on the ancestral lands of one of the oldest cowboy ranches in the area. It is approximately halfway between La Paz and Cabo San Lucas, on the footstep of the Tropic of Cancer.

This glamping-camp is set within a rural community of ranches dedicated to alternative tourism, offering a unique outdoor adventure and an insight into the traditional lifestyle of the ranchers of Baja California, known as the vaqueros de las Californias.

Please note that all bookings must be made exclusively through the Panterra booking system; other platforms will not be accepted.

Where Adventure Meets Culture

Camp Dionisio by Panterra

Your ranch experience includes glamping-style accommodations and a variety of engaging activities. You can enjoy nature hikes, explore the Pericue Trail to see cave paintings, and participate in classes on traditional Mexican cuisine, leather making, and basket weaving. Additionally, you’ll have the opportunity to feed and milk farm animals while learning how to make ranch cheese. Don’t forget to tour the organic garden that supplies your meals!

When you’re not on guided hikes and activities, take some time to relax and appreciate the stunning natural beauty and incredible biodiversity of the mountain environment. Birdwatching here is world-class, and you might even choose to take a refreshing afternoon dip in the river’s freshwater pools.

In the evenings, with clear skies and minimal light pollution, the Sierra de la Laguna biosphere offers some of the best stargazing opportunities in the world.

Unleash your inner explorer and join us for an adventure of a lifetime!
