Join us for a weekend of car-based camping on the Great Ocean Road, with the river trickling past your tent, cliffs towering overhead, and a hop, step and jump to the crystal waters of the nearby beach, with amazing, supportive, body positive peeps, free from judgement, diet talk, or any expectation of fitness.
The location for this camping weekend is the Cumbnerland RIver Holiday Park, Cumberland River Holiday Park, with its well-stocked kiosk, LPG gas supplies, ice, firewood and is a perfect base from which to explore the Great Ocean Road and surrounds. Go bush-walking into the National park or go on endless coastal walks, swim, snorkel or surf at our private beach which is only a 2 minute walk away. It is just 2hrs from Melbourne CBD, on the Great Ocean Road, near Lorne.
This place does not have wifi, and has limited phone reception, so its a great chance to switch off and relax!
Start Time: Arrive at the Cumberland River Holiday Park anytime after 3pm. Please call Richelle on 0402936397 on arrival to gain access.
Finish Time: we need to vacate the park by 10am on Sunday morning.
You will need to have your own camping gear for this one. But the best part is that you will be near your car, so you can bring all the mattresses, doonas and pillows you desire! You will need a tent, a sleeping mat/mattress, sleeping bag or doona, a camping chair, your food, something to eat with/on, and a way to cook it (if you want to cook it). All these bits are available cheaply at Kmart or anaconda if you are just starting out, or if you prefer, we might have some bits you can borrow - shoot us a message at hello@escapingyourcomfortzone.com
The plan for this weekend is easy. Set up your tent. And relax!!! Richelle will lead a walk to Jebbs Pool deep in the Otways for a swim (mostly flat, but uneven surfaces including a creek crossing we will help each other with), with other optional walks, including a beach walk. Lorne is a 5min drive away, so real coffee is always attainable!
Is it for you? YES! I cannot stress enough this is VERY beginner friendly, or those just starting out. You can opt in or out of any activity, and only do those you are comfortable with. You don't need any level of fitness, there's plenty of downtime for naps, or heading across the road for coffee! In fact the whole weekend is downtime!
Parking: There is strictly parking for 1 car for each site/cabin, so we will be shuffling cars, some will need to be parked on the street. Consider carpooling if you are keen to do that!
