Saskatchewan Birding Grand Tour: June 12 - 26, 2026
Join a small group birding tour to Southern Saskatchewan, Canada during the peak of the bird nesting season. Saskatchewan is located near the centre of North America where several bird migration flyways meet. Consequently, this bird-rich province of Canada is home to birds from both eastern and western North America. .
This Saskatchewan Birding Grand Tour will visit the best birding hotspots in southern Saskatchewan including:
Quill Lakes (bald Eagle, egrets and herons)
Duck Mountain Park (warblers, vireos, flycatchers, raptors)
Redberry Lake Bird Sanctuary (white-winged scoters, pelicans, hooded merganser)
Last Mountain Lake Bird Sanctuary (western and clark's grebes)
Great Sand Hills (lark sparrow, loggerhead shrike, poorwills)
Cypress Hills (red-naped sapsucker, macgillivray's warbler, violet-green swallow)
Old Man on his Back NCC preserve (bison, pronghorns, longspurs)
Jones's Peak (rock wren, mountain bluebird, prairie falcon)
Grasslands National Park (burrowing owl, long-billed curlew, prairie dogs, bison)
Moose Mountain Park (great crested flycatcher)
A Pre-tour Add-on to Prince Albert National Park (boreal forest birds) plus Chief Whitecap Riverbank Park (woodland and grassland birds) and Blackstrap Lake (pelicans and water birds) is available.
Post-tour add-ons to Goose Lake and a 3-day Carrot River Tour (Whip-poor-will, Chimney Swift, Golden-winged and other warbler) are also available.
Participants must drive their own personal or rented vehicle on this guided tour.
