SW Saskatchewan Birding Grand Tour: July 9 - 16, 2026
Join a small group birding tour to Southwestern Saskatchewan, Canada during the peak of the bird nesting season. Saskatchewan is located near the centre of North America where several bird migration flyways meet. Consequently, this bird-rich province of Canada is home to birds from both eastern and western North America. .
This Southwest Saskatchewan Birding Grand Tour will visit the best birding hotspots in southern Saskatchewan including:
Chaplin, Reed & Francis Lakes (piping plover, black-necked stilt, white-faced Ibis)
Buffalo Pound Lake (grebes, geese, ducks, flycatchers, marsh birds)
Cypress Hills (red-naped sapsucker, macgillivray's warbler, violet-green swallow)
Old Man on his Back NCC preserve (bison, pronghorns, longspurs)
Jones's Peak (rock wren, mountain bluebird, prairie falcon)
Grasslands National Park (burrowing owl, long-billed curlew, prairie dogs, bison)
