Walk through the old village, date-palm gardens and falaj channels while learning how water and agriculture have shaped life in the mountains.

Pause for lunch at a locally selected restaurant before continuing toward Jebel Shams.

Climb by 4x4 toward the high plateau, with changing views across limestone valleys and rugged mountain slopes.

Explore selected viewpoints overlooking Wadi Nakhr, often called the Grand Canyon of Oman. Walk only in areas considered safe by the guide and remain well back from unprotected edges.

Arrive at the secluded campsite and settle into the evening as the light softens across the canyon. Sunset views depend on weather and cloud cover.

Enjoy a freshly prepared barbecue dinner, Omani coffee and dates around the campfire.

Relax beneath the night sky before retiring to a tent equipped with cold-weather sleeping gear. Visibility varies with weather and moonlight.

Wake to the early light over the plateau, weather permitting.

Enjoy breakfast with hot tea and coffee before leaving the campsite.

Hike a selected portion of the marked W6 trail along the canyon wall toward the abandoned village of As Sab. The distance will be adjusted to the group’s fitness, comfort and available time.

Begin the descent from the plateau and return toward Muscat.
