About this trip

Join your host, Antonia Williams-Gary and her friends Meg Bartos and Shado Twala for a curated trip to South Africa that takes you to the Source of Fine Art, Fine Dining, Vino-Tourism. Jazz and Storytelling.

For the first time ever, kanju Interiors Founder Meg Bartos will invite outside guests along with her and provide velvet rope access to tour design studios of kanju brands and browse through several of the “hidden gem” markets from which she procures some of the fabulous one of a kind finds that kanju has become known for. Beyond the open market stalls off the main streets and squares of Cape Town and past the curio shops along the Waterfront are a wealth of traders and creators that service a much different clientele.

Award winning Radio and Media Personality and jazz expert  Shado Twala, will serve as your Host during the International Day of Jazz activities.  The International Jazz Day celebration has an extensive program of education and community outreach activities planned that will engages artists, educators and audiences worldwide. We had a great experience. The trip provided a comprehensive history of the transatlantic slave trade, the Ashanti Kingdom and the culture of Ghana. There was something for everyone and fun was also included. Shopping was brisk. Senegal was the perfect wind down to get ready to return to the U.S. The tour guides in both countries were knowledgeable and were very accommodating no matter the request. Thank you Travel to Do Good for exceeding our expectations.

This is the most memorable trip that I have had the opportunity to be apart of. THE PEOPLE, THE FOOD, THE FELLOWSHIP, MOST OF ALL THE HOSPITALITY . AMAZING 👏

This trip was fun, eye opening, educational, and I enjoyed every second of it! The WeTravel team did an excellent job in planning and partnering with KITS to make our groups experience phenomenal. I highly recommend using WeTravel for all trips to the Motherland.

The trip was a wonderful spirit filled experience, true to form with art, music and culture throughout the country. While the trip was a bit too jammed packed with activities, it was good to have a variety of exposures, events and adventures for the full experience. Suggestions for the tour guide; Help set expectations by informing the tour group a day ahead of what to expect. Examples: Inform group of the day(s) when we will be walking in water so we can wear water shoes, short pants, etc. Inform group of days where there will be no running water or toilet facilities while on tour. Thank you again for a well planned and orchestrated "travel to do good" experience.
