This 10-day itinerary was built to encourage you, to relax you, to entertain you, and to inspire you. You will discover the current capital of Italy, Rome, and then move back in time to the former capital of Italy, Florence. Both cities are major movers and shakers in what happens with Italy today, and both are important to visit to have an understanding of one of the world’s favorite, and most visited, countries.
You will visit Rome a little different from how most of the millions of tourists do, you will see it as a local. A Roman guide will lead us through some of the most beautiful parts of Rome via bicycle, the perfect way to discover the Eternal City. When visiting the Vatican, a local guide will be sure to give us lots of time to see the thousands of years of history and beautiful art.
When you travel North to Tuscany, you do visit Florence, but your stay will be in the Chianti Rufina region where the food, wine, and beauty are seemingly limitless. You will see Cortona as only a local knows how to as a veteran guide of the hilltop town will lead you through her home. Volterra, the Etruscan capital thousands of years ago, has the most amazing views you will ever see, along with one of the oldest crafts known to man, alabaster. Receive a private demonstration in Volterra’s favorite alabaster shop, and proceed to a fifth-generation olive orchard and vineyard, where the traditions are strong, and the beauty is endless. Salute!
