Arrive in Barcelona, load your motor coach and head to explore the city's famous La Rambla.  Be oriented to the city and after drop off at Placa de Catalunya venture down the magnificent pedestrian walkway filled with shops, outdoor cafes and joyful energy.  Enjoy your first tapas bar lunch, then explore the nearby narrow streets and courtyards.  In the late afternoon the group will gather to take your motor coach northeast to beautiful Costa Brava.  Settle in to accommodations in Santa Susanna, freshen up for dinner and delight in your first night along the Mediterranean Sea.

The group will venture to Figueres, just south of the border with France, to be fascinated at the exquisite works of world-famous surrealist artist Salvador Dali (museum ticket included) whose significance on pop art is unmistakable.  By the early afternoon relocate to the charming small city of Girona "the City of Four Rivers".  Upon arrival have lunch in small groups at one of the abundant tapas bars or outdoor cafes.  Afterward receive a guided tour of the city marveling at its rich history.  Visiting El Call (the Jewish Quarter) with its maze of narrow cobblestone streets, walking along the medieval walls and seeing Girona's Cathedral, Game of Thrones fans will identify filming locations utilized in one of the most successful TV series of all time.  Beyond that notoriety, Girona frequently polls as one of the most livable small cities in Spain.  Return to Santa Susanna by the early evening to refresh then in small groups enjoy a traveler's choice dinner and another evening along the Mediterranean coastline.

After breakfast the staff and players will transfer to a nearby athletic facility for practice to tune up for their international game. Lacing up your cleats and putting on your football shoulder pads and helmets will make you feel uniquely ‘at home’ along the shores of Costa Brava, Spain.  After practice the day is yours to enjoy the beach lifestyle afforded along the Mediterranean.  Play catch, volleyball, body surf and other activities are art your disposal.  If interested, one can visit the Montnegre-Correder Nature Reserve to see the watchtowers and fortifications the settlers used in an attempt to ward off Spanish pirates.  The group will have dinner together with the remainder of the night free within coach's instructions.

Arrive in the late morning to receive a guided tour of Barri Gatic, the well-preserved medieval core of Barcelona. Walk the narrow streets and discover the magnificent hidden courtyards. View Barcelona’s magnificent old cathedral. Your tour will finish either in the beautiful Placa Reial or on La Rambla where you can then venture for lunch and other refreshments. Consider La Boqueria which hosts countless food stands filled with the freshest of meats, fish, fruit, sweets and more. The afternoon provides you with free time for more exploration of Barcelona’s fascinating city centre including La Barceloneta Port and Columbus Monument, Museu Picasso, City Park and more.  In the late afternoon, gather to proceed to check-in to your Barcelona accommodations.  Dinner is 'traveler's choice' in small groups with your tour managers and hotel concierge on hand to offer attractive options that fit your interests and budget.

Breakfast then transfer to the incomparable Sagrada Familia for a guided or audio visit of this most famous Basilica - one of the most unique and studied structures in the world.  After the tour which leaves visitors in awe and stunned, it will be time to enjoy lunch in small groups. You will then be free to take in the myriad of opportunities available in Barcelona including fabulous Port Olimpic (converted home of Olympic athletes for Barcelona Olympics) with its oceanfront restaurants and beaches, Tibidabo (mountain-top amusement park) or some of the attractive city beachfront life.  Group dinner is provided in the early evening and the evening is at your coach's instruction - noting that International Game Day is tomorrow!

After breakfast at your hotel enjoy a tour focused on the perimeter of Barcelona including Montjuic overlooking the city and sea. This area served as the stunningly beautiful home site to the 1992 Summer Olympics. The group will then move on to view FC Barcelona stadium, one of the world’s premier soccer clubs; as well as Parc Guell – a Gaudi masterpiece.   Around noon fuel up with your pre-game meal (included). After lunch transfer to a local sport centre to play Carthage football in an international game vs. one of Barcelona’s American football club teams.  After the game there will be time for socializing with your Spanish football opponents and hosts. We hope for a post-game meal with plenty of food and refreshments between the teams, staffs and fans.

After breakfast transfer to nearby Montserrat a Benedictine Abbey carved high up into the side of a mountain and host to the fascinating and revered Black Madonna. Your cable car transportation guided visit and access to the Black Madonna is included. The tour group will return to Barcelona in the early afternoon passing through Placa de Espanya, home of Barcelona’s bull ring (not active) eventually dropping the group off for free time and personal choice exploration. If you missed any of these, options still include Tibidabo the mountainside amusement park, the seaside port of shops and tapas bars called Barceloneta, beach time back at Port Olimpic or people watching in Placa Reial, amongst other choices.  In the evening the group will meet back at the hotel to refresh then transfer to enjoy dinner at a Catalan restaurant.  Celebrate and recall stories from one of the most unique and best weeks of your life.
