PASSPORT

You will need a valid passport to travel out of the U.S.  Ghana  will not allow U.S. travelers to enter if their passports do not have at least six months of validity left on them. That means if your passport is set to expire less than six months after a planned vacation to a foreign country, you may not be allowed entry to that country.

If you do not have a valid U.S passport, please visit the State Department’s website to apply for a passport ASAP.

Nigerian and other ECOWAS Passport Holders do not require a visa.

VISA

How Much Do Ghanian Visas Cost?

Ghanian visa fees start at $60 for regular processing and $100 for expedited processing.  The Ghanian government reserves the right to adjust pricing at-will based on a variety of factors. The money paid for the visa fee does not include service fees requested by the Ghanian government, cost of postage, processing etc.

VACCINES

Are Any Vaccines Required for Ghana?

Yes.  Proof of yellow fever vaccination is required for travel to Ghana.  Ghana is also a malaria zone, consult your travel physician for advice on the best prophylaxis for you and any travel shots or treatment that may be needed. We highly recommend you to purchase trip insurance in case of sickness or unexpected circumstances during your trip.

TRAVEL INSURANCE (Required)

Travel insurance is required.  We do not provide travel insurance.  Travel insurance covers unexpected events such as delayed flights, medical emergencies, dental emergencies, adventure sports and activities, trip cancellation

BANKING  

Notify your banking institution  and credit card companies that you will be making a trip to Accra, Ghana. Be sure to update all your contacts, alerts and emails with them to ensure they can reach you to verify transactions you make.

MONEY

We will be able to assist with converting dollars to the local  currency.   Only new $100 notes are accepted for foreign exchange and as late as print year of 2010.
