As dusk descends, immerse yourself in the vibrant Zapotec Comparsa tradition, where locals don colorful costumes and masks for a joyous dancing parade. Graciously invited by the community, we'll gather at a small, woman-owned distillery in Matalan, our host for the evening's festivities. Highlights include mesmerizing portrayals of the Devil and skeletons, symbolizing the cycle of life and death, while participants challenge societal norms, offering profound reflections amidst laughter and camaraderie.
