About this trip

Join Brooklyn and Toni for a retreat at Cocoon Portugal, a home away from home, where you have time and space to take what you want and leave what’s unrequired. Through the practices of vinyasa and katonah yoga you’ll feel into mediating your middle.

Travel Info

Arrival  and check in:

Check-in is from 3pm. On our first day we will check in, do a post-travel practice to put ourselves back together and then enjoy dinner with the group. 


Departure:

Check-out is before 10am. There will be a final morning practice for the early risers before we head home.


Car Rental: 

It is recommend renting a car for the duration of your stay, especially if you are considering doing excursions and activities more than a walk's distance from the farm

About Cocoon

Situated on the windswept and untouched atlantic coast of Portugal, near the charming fishing village of Zambujeira do Mar, is Cocoon Portugal, a 275 acre coastal farm & retreat centre. The Alentejo coastal region, which is known for its rugged coastline and long stretches of deserted beaches, gives way to rolling hills, whitewashed villages and traditional farming communities. 


Cocoon is far removed from the tourist trail, a place that invites you to slow down, and recalibrate and return to the natural rhythms that surround you in every direction.​ The kind of place where each morning is a celebration, practicing under the canopy of old growth pines, but so is each evening, with world class wine and fascinating dinner conversation. 


From Lisbon, Cocoon is about two hours drive south, from Faro, slightly closer). The ocean, trails, and sandy coves, is a 15 minute drive away. With two yoga shalas, a freshwater lake, and a circus of goats, sheep + peacocks, Cocoon is a piece of magic on Portugal’s untouched Atlantic coast. Come play! ​

Daily Schedule

7am - Coffee + Light Snacks 

8am - 9:30am: Morning Practice + Pranayama 

10am - 11am: Breakfast ~ expect local fruits, homemade bread + cakes, fresh eggs, chia puddings + muesli, local cheeses, cold cuts, fresh juices and tea/coffee

11am - 2pm: ~ take a dip in the ocean, read a book, take a hike, you do you!

2pm - 3pm: lunch ~ a base of ancient grains, local grilled dishes, fresh salads and roasted veggies

3pm - 5pm: ~ siesta, get a massage, listen to a podcast, cuddle with the goats, take a nap!

5pm - 6:30: Evening Practice ~ a gentle, restorative practice or workshop-style class

7:30pm - Dinner 

FAQs

How do i get to the accommodation?

You will need to organize your own transportation to Cocoon. We recommend either car hire, taxi or once every one has signed up we will help link you all up so you can potentially car share. 


I am new to yoga, can i still join?

Absolutely! This retreat is for all levels of yoga. No problem at all if you have never done yoga before – in fact what better way to begin. 


How many people will be on the retreat?

We have a max of 20 spots available but depending on room arrangement it could be less.


What should i bring?

Really anything you would take on vacation. a good book, something to yoga, lounge, swim and dance in. We have all the yoga props so no need to bring a mat unless you want to. 


Can i come early and stay longer?

Not at Cocoon, but there are plenty of cute accommodation options in nearby towns.

Terms and Conditions

Retreat pricing

All prices are per person in euros. Prices only include costs directly related with the retreat, and inclusions where stated. The retreat pricing does not include airfares or airport transfers. Prices are fixed, and are non-negotiable. 

Deposit & payment terms

Upon booking you must pay a €600 or €1000 non-refundable deposit. Once the deposit is received you will receive confirmation of your booking via email with a booking receipt. The amount of the deposit will be deducted from the full amount payable. The final payment, being the balance of the full price of the retreat, is due no later than 29th June 2024 (8 weeks before retreat). If you book after 29th June 2024, then the total amount payable will be due in full at the time of booking. Please note that you are fully responsible for ensuring that booking payments are accurate and in accordance with the agreed schedule. If full payment is not received by 29th June 2024, we reserve the right to cancel your reservation and fill your spot. We will remind you of the date when the balance falls due.

Cancellation policy

If you wish to cancel your retreat you must notify us in writing by contacting hello@antonialingemann.com. Your €600 or €1000 deposit is non-refundable and will not be returned in any circumstances. Cancellations made on or before 4th april, 2024 will receive a 50% refund of any amount paid over and above the amount of the deposit. Cancellations made after 4th april, 2024 will receive no refund. No transfer of bookings can be made. Exceptions to our cancellation policy cannot be made for ANY reason, including weather, terrorism, civil unrest, COVID-19, health changes, government mandates, personal emergencies or otherwise. There are no refunds/price alterations for arriving late or leaving a retreat early.

Retreat cancellations

We reserve the right to make any changes deemed by us to be necessary, including staffing (teachers leading the retreat and or classes), class styles and disciplines, advertised excursions, arranged transportation, advertised meals, etc. We reserve the right to cancel any retreat prior to departure, in which case you will be offered a transfer to another future retreat or a full refund of any and all payments made to us. We are not responsible for any expenses or damages incurred as a result of retreat cancellation including preparation costs, airline tickets, travel documents or other expenses. We ask that you do not book any travel arrangements until we have confirmed that your retreat has reached the group size minimum to run. You will not be entitled to claim any additional amounts or seek any compensation for any injury, loss, expenses or damages (either direct or consequential) or for any loss of time or inconvenience which may result from a cancellation (including but not limited to visa, passport and vaccination charges, or departure, gear purchases, airport and airline taxes). We will not be held responsible for any delay, additional expense or inconvenience that may be caused directly or indirectly by events outside of our control (ie: late arrival/departure of flights, civil disturbance, fire, flood, cyclones, severe weather, acts of god and acts of government, machinery or equipment failure, or cancellations for any reason.) No refunds will be given for “no shows” or days not used resulting from the above aforementioned.

Room allocations

To reserve your booking, you must state which room you are wanting to book and if you are travelling with another friend or partner and their full name. If you are booking a share room and travelling solo, you will be sharing with another retreat guest. We will do our best to cater for your preferred room, however if this room is already taken we will contact you directly to organise the most suitable room for you. If you have booked a shared room and are travelling solo and there is no other traveller to room you with, then you will be required to pay for a single room. Rooms will be allocated on a first paid basis.

Travel documents and immunisations

It is the responsibility of each traveller to obtain all required travel documents including valid passports and visas. In most cases you must have at least 6 months validity on your passport in order to travel. It is your responsibility to ensure you have the correct immunisations. If in doubt, please contact your nearest travel clinic for the latest requirements.

Travelling arrangements

It is your responsibility to make your own travel arrangements to and from the retreat including flights and airport transfers. With your permission, we can connect you with other guests joining your retreat, to see if you can arrange your flights and/or travel together. In this case you take full responsibility for your own travel plans. If you choose to share cars with other guests or retreat hosts and/or teachers, resort/hotel staff members whilst on a trip then please note that you decide this at your own risk. We are not responsible for any risk, injury or death occurred through car sharing.

Insurance

Taking part in any of the activities that will take place during the retreat, including yoga, tours, and sporting activities, carry a high risk. When you participate in the retreat or in any of the activities that take place during the retreat, you agree that you do so at your own risk. We are not responsible, and do not have any liability for, any risk, damage, injuries, illnesses or death that occurs during or as a consequence of your participation in the retreat, whether by reason of negligence or otherwise. You must insure yourself against any such risk, damage, injury, illness or death. We advise all attendees to purchase travel and medical insurance on booking to cover any unfortunate events while travelling and on retreat. Your insurance is NOT included in the retreat price.

Health disclaimer

You must provide us with full details upon booking of any existing medical conditions, disability or injury that may affect your retreat with us (including, in particular, any accommodation requirements) at the time of your booking. If, in our reasonable opinion, the retreat is not suitable for your medical condition or disability then we have the right to refuse to accept the booking.

If you do not give us full details of your medical condition or disability upon booking we reserve the right to cancel the booking at any time, including at the beginning of or during the retreat, if, in our reasonable opinion, the retreat arrangements are not suitable for you. In this event, clause 3 will apply.

Allergies

An environment free of allergens, including but not limited to food allergens, CANNOT be guaranteed on our retreats. It cannot be guaranteed that any particular food product is free of all traces of any particular allergen; that consumption of a food product will not result in some form of allergic reaction, or that the participant will not come into contact with any allergens while in attendance on one of our retreats.

Special requests

Special requests must be submitted in the booking form. We cannot guarantee that the request will be met although we will try our utmost. Any failure to meet your requests will not be a breach of contract on the part of our team. Confirmation that a request has been made will be included on your booking invoice or upon the acknowledgment of booking. We are not able to accept bookings which are conditional upon a special request being met and these will be treated by us as a standard booking with request.

Responsibility and behaviour

As part of your booking with us, you accept liability for any loss or damage caused by you or any member of your party during the course of your retreat. Payment for any loss or damage must be made to our supplier/venue or us at the time that it occurs or as soon as is reasonably practicable thereafter. If the cost of the loss or damage is not known at the time, we will reasonably estimate it and if this reasonable estimate exceeds the amount paid, you must pay the difference once known, and if it is less, the difference will be refunded to you. you will also be responsible for and agree to indemnify us in respect of any claim subsequently made against us and all costs incurred by us (including our own and any other party’s full legal costs) arising from your actions. You are also responsible for your own behaviour and any other members of your party. We can refuse to accept you as a customer or refuse to continue dealing with you and/or any other member of your party by terminating your retreat arrangements if your or their behaviour is deemed to be inappropriate, disruptive, upsetting or dangerous to yourself or anyone else, or if you or any member of your party are likely to cause damage to the property. In these circumstances, we will not be liable to pay any refund, compensation or any expenses incurred by you if we have to terminate your booking arrangements due to unacceptable behaviour. In this situation we will have no further responsibility for you or any other member in your party (including any return travel arrangements).

Website & advertising

The information contained on our websites, advertising material and social media is our responsibility and to the best of our knowledge is correct at the time of publication. Occasionally errors may occur, and information may change and you must therefore check all the details of your travel arrangements at the time of booking.

Media

In booking with us, you give permission for capture and use of photography, video, written or verbal testimonial. You hereby grant us unrestricted permission to use and reuse, publish and republish in whole or in part, individually or in connection with other material in any and all publishing and social media platforms now or hereafter known, including the internet and for website marketing use without restriction as to alteration, and to use your name in connection with any use if we choose to do so.

Medical waiver

I acknowledge that i have voluntarily enrolled to participate in your retreat, willingly assume full responsibility for the potential risks i am exposing myself to and accept full responsibility for any injury or death that may result from participating, volunteering or watching in any physical training, including the yoga that will take place during the retreat, whether caused by our negligence or that of any other person, or for any other reason. I, the participant, accept all financial responsibility for any injury that i may cause to myself or to any other participant due to my negligence. I realize that liability may arise from negligence or carelessness from other guests on the same retreat, from dangerous or defective equipment or property owned by the venue, maintained or controlled by them or because of their possible liability without fault. I acknowledge that I have no physical impairments, injuries, or illnesses that will endanger others or me. I will advise you  of any impairments upon my initial booking. I hereby confirm that I am medically, physically, emotionally and in all respects fit and able to participate in the retreats. If not, i confirm that i have put in writing to Brooklyn or Antonia to explain and describe as clearly as possible any/all issues that may interfere with the retreat package in question. 

I agree i will be fully and financially responsible for my own physical condition and well-being during the retreat and will follow all safety precautions and instructions prescribed by Brooklyn, Antonia, and staff. I acknowledge and agree that my participation in the retreat will expose me to food, activities and persons that may result in exposure to allergens and illness and, in that regard and assuming such risks, I hereby fully release Brooklyn, Antonia and staff from any and all liability and or responsibility to myself or any third party for death and/ or injuries/illnesses direct or indirect, incidental or any damages that arise out of or relate to my participation in retreat, exposure to food and/or any other allergies caused by insects, animals, plants, pools, chemicals etc. I acknowledge that you may make suggestions from time to time that are intended to help me and my well-being. However, i take ultimate responsibility for my choices and realize that Brooklyn, Antonia, and staff are not licensed medical providers and that i must consult my doctor if in any doubt about any physical or mental issues prior to my retreat. 

If i experience pain or discomfort during the retreat, i will modify the staff’s instruction to suit my individual needs. I will not hold teachers and staff responsible for any pain, discomfort or injury i experience during or after the retreat. I understand that the activities offered on this retreat are not a substitute for medical care. I understand that teachers and staff are not qualified to diagnose, prescribe, or treat physical or mental illness. By agreeing to the terms stated here in this document and elsewhere on Brooklyn & Antonia, website i hereby release and discharge my rights and claims for damages or liabilities that may occur as a result of participation in a retreat.
