About this trip

Its like a dry dock ship. Because the world all comes to Santa Fe.”

Join us August 25-29, 2021 for the next Connecting Growth Globally (CGG) experience in Santa Fe, New Mexico. This 5-day/4-night trip is designed for the curious traveler who craves intimate, one-of-a-kind experiences in a COVID-safe environment. We go beyond standard tourism, connecting with the stories of leaders who make this diverse region thrive. We explore why the city became an art and food haven. We dive into growth opportunities alongside the challenges of economic inequality, education and environmental sustainability. As with all CGG experiences, iconic food and drink are a priority!

We stay at the newly-renovated Inn & Spa at Loretto, a boutique luxury hotel in the heart of Santa Fe. Group size is limited to 10 curious-minded travelers to emphasize learning and connection.

Santa Fe

It's a place known for art, food and adobe architecture. It's rare that a visitor doesn't fall in love with the city that calls itself the "City Different."

Moving to Santa Fe in 2020 (Left At Albuquerque), I found my curiosity similar to that of traveling to a new country. I could see opportunity; I pondered how things came to be. Ironically, COVID provided a way to more intimately connect with people than might otherwise have happened. I wish to pass on that gift.

Through this unique experience, you'll personally connect with people and stories unique to Santa Fe. Whether you've visited Santa Fe before or this is your first time, your learnings will be your most treasured souvenirs. You may want to arrive a bit early--Santa Fe is at 7500 feet altitude and it may take a day to adjust. And don't leave too soon--whether your interest is art, hiking or Native American culture, we encourage you to extend your stay for further exploration.

All trip participants will be required to show proof of COVID vaccination at least 30 days prior to trip departure and to follow protocol recommended by the WHO, CDC, the State of New Mexico and as requested by individual businesses (including the wearing masks indoors).

Given the rise of the Delta variant, we also ask that all trip participants administer and test negative to a COVID-19 test prior to trip inception on August 25.

The State of New Mexico takes the health of its residents and visitors very seriously. As of August 5, 2021, 65% of New Mexican residents 18+ are fully vaccinated (75% of all residents in Santa Fe county). Here is the New Mexico Department of Health COVID-19 Dashboard.

Welcome & Dinner in Tesuque

Arrive and transport on own to the Inn & Spa at Loretto Santa Fe

With its convenient location near the Santa Fe Plaza and Canyon Road, you’ll breathe in the unique culture of Santa Fe just stepping out your door.

At 4:00pm, we gather in the hotel lobby and transport to the Morris family home in Tesuque. Sip sparkling New Mexican wine while looking towards the Jemez Mountains and Los Alamos. As the sun begins to set, we individually share what brought us to “The City Different.” Joining us will be Sonja Thorpe Bohannan, who will share childhood stories from her family’s owning of Bishop’s Lodge for 80 years until 1998.

We take a short walk downhill and for dinner at SkyFire, the already acclaimed restaurant in the newly-opened Auberge Bishop’s Lodge. Hosted by Peter Lovato, whose family has lived in northern New Mexico for 30 generations, we are introduced to the vibrant chile and other seasonal local ingredients, and learn about the Auberge vision for creating the top resort of the Southwest in the storied hills of Tesuque Valley.

Connecting Growth Globally is all about seeing the inspiration, connections, and contradictions in the world. We are global leaders who explore differently and invite others to join. Because we know global experiences change your perspective. Jodi Morris is the founder of Connecting Growth Globally. She works as an advisor to impactful organizations, a success coach to motivated individuals, and a curator of one-of-a-kind global CGG experiences. More about Jodi:

I had been to Santa Fe many times over many years, but Jodi assembled an entirely different experience that provided a more substantive understanding of the history, workings, and aspirations of this vibrant city. She brought together engaging local experts on a variety of topical subjects to provide fuller appreciation of what we were seeing. Her enthusiasm, her attention to detail, and the gracious hospitality that she and her husband extended to the group resulted in a rare camaraderie and a thoroughly delightful experience.

Wow: a life changing trip! Jodi and Bob were impeccable and thoughtful hosts, we ate like royalty, laughed our heads off and had the most amazing insider experiences. Remarkably, our group instantly got along because everyone was kind, funny, intelligent and inquisitive. The best review that I can share is I'm 100% in on Jodi's next trip! Can't wait!

As a second-time traveler with Connecting Growth Globally, I can tell you that Jodi Morris does not disappoint with her newly created, Santa Fe experience. Having traveled to Tanzania in 2019 with Jodi, she applies her creative format to learn and go deep to experience the true local level, while staying true to her mission to connect and elevate people, internationally and domestically. The experiences and wonderful conversations shared by our fabulous Santa Fe group (the Fab 9!) included amazing culinary experiences to chatting with Charlie, the nuclear physicist, and his lovely wife Janet at a lovely, relaxed dinner! What a milestone moment that was in my life. Although no two trips will ever be exactly the same, I really like the idea of a one-of-a-kind experience and wish Jodi well on all upcoming newly, crafted trips! I'm ready to pack my bags again!

This trip was absolutely amazing and wonderful in every way. Jodi Morris organized this with such thoughtfulness and incredible attention to detail. The theme that wove it all together was storytelling and how the uniqueness of Santa Fe is present in all these stories. We met with so many people who are engaged in the Santa Fe community in a variety of ways- from food to art, to history to economic development. We also experienced the incredible food of Santa Fe in so many ways. Jodi created a truly unique experience for all of us. I cannot recommend this highly enough. I would come back to Santa Fe in a minute- and will most definitely sign up for future Connecting Growth Globally trips. Thank you Jodi for all you did to make this an unforgettable experience for all of us.

The trip was fabulous! We did quite a lot in a week, but felt like we had a nice balance between planned activities and moments of downtime for reflection. All of the experiences were thoughtfully crafted to make the most of everyone's time and each experience added to the collective experience. It was a well-rounded trip with approaching Cambodia from a lens on the future. I now have a better understanding of the potential of the country and the many ways both NGOs and small local businesses are working together to make the future bright. Conversation and shared experiences have led to hopefully lifelong friendships.
