Chacaltaya (5.321 meters above the sea level) is a mountain range 2 hours away of La Paz. From the summit you can observe Lake Titicaca and Huayna Potosí mountain in the distance. The glacier was one of the biggest glaciers in south America but between 1987 and 2007 over 80 percent of Chacaltaya`s glacier melted To start the tour, we pick you up from their respective hostel / hotel (central area) at 8:00 a.m. and we moved in private car to the mountain. Arriving to the refuge you star hiking to the summit. The moon valley is located in the south area of La Paz, this valley has an appearance of formation of rock which is similar to the moon surface. When you get here, you will enter with a guide who will explain different interesting things about it. In the place you will also see different kind of trees and plants, between them are the cactus. The tour last for about 1 hour and in the final part there is a viewpoint where you can see the city and is perfect to take some pictures. The tour finishes 16:30 close to San Francisco church.
