Cass is a modern muse. She lives in a world of solutions where nothing is permanent and passion is power.
“I believe in a future where all living beings have access to the support they need to thrive,” explains Cass. This vision is what drives her day in and day out. How can we begin to create such a world? Her answer; “The vision starts with you. Yes, you!”
Through the vessel of her LLC, Choose Joy, she holds space for yogis and seekers to discover their dharma and tap into their power. She facilitates such transformation through sacred movement, energy healing, tarot, dream-building, poetry, and motivational speaking. She shares her message globally on Instagram as @cassyoga and via her Bliss Blog | Soul In Love. Rumor has it she is manifesting a world tour. Movement is her first language. She was a mover; shape-shifting and exploring her boundaries, body, mind, and spirit. Perhaps this was why her mom gave her a yoga book as a young child. Cass shares, “I remember flipping through the pages and trying the different postures, my competitive mind loved the challenge,” but it was so much more than physical for her. She became enthralled by the mysticism of the eight-limb path.
A desire to teach yoga overcame her in 2009 as a young college student. The idea crossed her mind while in savasana at a campus class. The experience propelled her to enroll in teacher training at Moksha Yoga Center. She started teaching right away. After devotedly logging 1000 hours of study, the Chicago suburbanite was officially certified in 2010.
At the age of 7, Caitlin began dancing and taking part in many different formats; ballet, jazz, tap, hip-hop, and lyrical. After competitively dancing for 10 years, she also tried cheerleading in high school. Throughout college she dabbled in spin, boot camp, kick boxing and pilates classes. As fitness was always a healthy outlet for Caitlin, she began practicing yoga throughout college and instantly fell in love with the practice. Specifically, after taking her very first hot yoga class at Corepower Yoga in 2012, she was hooked. With a background in dance, yoga simply felt like a natural fit for both her mental and physical health. She graduated with her BA in Rhetoric and Communications from Dominican University in 2014. As she was unsure about the next step, Caitlin finally took the plunge to become a certified yoga instructor and received her 200 hour RYT certification favoring a Vinyasa style flow. She would love to pay forward the mental clarity and calmness as well as the physical workout that yoga has continued to provide for her.
