About this trip

Your First Yoga Retreat!!!!Come heal with the fresh waters of Lake Michigan in healing Door County, WI!!!

Your First Yoga Retreat….or your second or third! Either way, we want you to know that this retreat is FOR you, no matter where you are in your journey. If you can move your body and have a willingness to dive deeper into your spiritual-self, this immersion retreat is for you!

To set the record straight, going on a yoga retreat doesn’t mean you’ll be doing yoga and meditation all day, everyday. Our retreats have a lot of benefits, and many of them come from what we do outside of our yoga practice, which is twice each day.

WHEN: June 24 - 28
WHERE: Sturgeon Bay, WI Retreat House on Lake Michigan (see pictures!)
FACILITATED BY: Whiteny Fenton & Sarah Try
INVESTMENT IN SELF: $1100/person for 4 guest occupancy room (bunk room) or $1500/person for double occupancy room

WHAT TO EXPECT ON YOUR YOGA IMMERSION RETREAT:

  1. Community!! Going on a yoga retreat is like entering a new community. Yoga is about connecting, and you’ll be surrounded by like-minded people who are committed to more than a class fit in around their busy work week. It’s a wonderful opportunity to speak and learn with others and be a part of a community as much or as little as you like. Most retreaters choose to attend a yoga retreat solo, but there’s no fear of being lonely. A sense of freedom can come from spending time with people who know nothing about you, and connections can form faster than you think. Make the most of this retreat experience by having no expectations, of yourself or the other attendees. Our yoga retreats are seen as a safe place. There will be stories and experiences shared that people may not even choose to share with their closest friends.
  2. Healthy Food Options!! The food on our retreats are as important as the yoga! We take this part VERY seriously. All meals and snacks are included, and you can bet on them being healthy, delicious and nurturing. All meals are plant based and made with so much love you’ll feel like you're getting a warm hug from every meal. In addition, meal times are another time to enjoy being a part of a community, when we all sit down together and reminisce about the day while looking forward to the next.
  3. A Digital Detox!!! Our retreat presents a great opportunity to try a digital detox. We recommend spending your retreat away from social media and the constant connection we usually experience, and focus on connecting with yourself instead. We understand the importance of digital connection this day in age. So we just ask that you try and limit yourself to certain times of day and go somewhere private for your conversations.
  4. Time Away from the Day-to-Day for Deep Relaxation + Reflection!!  When you are doing life it's hard to take any time away for yourself, to either sit and contemplate, reflect or just rest and relax. This immersion retreat is designed for that. We create a space for you to get away from the day-to-day so you can 100% focus on YOURSELF. The workshops and circles we hold offer time for reflection and discussion on deep topics you can't give to yourself while you're at home. We know that you’re looking for a break and a bit of downtime, and we have built that free time into the retreat schedule. You can use this time to do whatever makes you feel more energized, whether it’s sunning in a lounge chair, reading a book, walking along the lake or nature trail, writing in a journal, exploring, or taking a nap.
  5. A Change in Body, Mind, Spirit!! This yoga retreat is still about yoga and meditation, and the increase in classes will likely lead to faster advances in your practice than when you’re at home. Without the usual distractions of daily life and the extra time to focus, you’ll notice your body getting stronger, your mind getting clearer and soul getting fed.

Yoga has been a part of my life for over 15 years, and my practice has helped me grow stronger, more flexible and fearless, both on and off the mat. Yoga inspires me to live each moment more mindfully. I completed my 200 hour training with Yoga Works in Costa Rica and have continued my education with Yoga Journal Conferences, Wanderlust Events and online. I have taught all over California, Mexico and Central America, but I will always be a student of the practice. I am deeply grateful for the loving wisdom my teachers have shared with me. In my classes, I love to combine creative sequencing, a spirit of playfulness and a dose of inspiration to help you deepen your practice. I seek to help others thrive in life by nurturing body, mind and soul with yoga. My hope is that you step off the mat feeling refreshed, nourished and balanced.

I really enjoyed the retreat to Costa Rica with Whitney! Each day guests have options for yoga, excursions, and/ or to relax at the resort. It was a great balance of activity and relaxation time! The resort is very nice and beyond helpful with planning excursions. Thank you for a great week in Costa Rica!

This trip was a blast. It was my first time to Costa Rica and i definitely got a taste of everything from yoga, beaches, waterfalls, hikes, all the animals and the local cuisine Whitney does an amazing job in organizing and making the retreat magical with yoga twice a day. It was absolutely perfect - except the leaving part. I’m definitely looking forward to attending future retreats in other destinations.
