After breakfast, check out and travel to Charlotte, NC to visit the Billy Graham Library for a visit. Explore the Graham Family dairy-farm home, nestled in a beautiful wooded garden. The Library features inspiring multimedia exhibits that enable you to walk along the path of Billy Graham's remarkable life and journey around the world while reliving the most touching, historic moments and accomplishments in a legacy spanning more than 60 years. After your visit, continue traveling to Charleston to meet your guide for a Historic Charleston Tour. Charleston is one of the most beautiful and historic cities in the South and it features stately homes with lovely gardens, magnificent public buildings, and majestic churches. During your tour you will see Charleston City Market, White Point Garden, Rainbow Row (longest continuous row of 18th century buildings in the U.S.), Old Exchange Building, Four Corners of Law, Site of Gadsden Wharf (largest private wharf and site of largest importation of enslaved Africans in America), the U.S. Custom House, Ashley Hall (private girl school), The Battery, the College of Charleston, and several historic churches, including the Circular Congregation Church (oldest dated burials in Charleston), St. Michael's Church (oldest church in Charleston), and the Cathedral of St. John the Baptist (last Catholic cathedral in America to receive a spire.) After the tour, check into your hotel and prepare for a delicious dinner at one of Charleston's popular restaurants.
Enjoy breakfast, then depart for a visit to the Magnolia Plantation where you will have a tour of the home and nature tram tour of the gardens. Enjoy lunch on your own in Charleston's historic area before departing for an afternoon tour of the Charleston Tea Plantation, America's only tea factory, where you will learn all about how tea is made as you travel through the tea production building and view the factory floor. TV screens will introduce you to Mr. & Mrs. Bigelow as they explain in great detail the tea making process. Later, board the trolley for a driving tour of the tea garden with a stop at the greenhouse. Return to your hotel to freshen up before departing for a dinner cruise on Charleston Harbor which includes a visit to historic Fort Sumter, known as The Battery. Visit the informative museum to learn about the Fort's pivotal role in the American Civil War.
After breakfast, check out and travel Savannah, GA. Arrive at the Savannah's Visitor Center where you will meet your guide for a 2-hour tour of one of the largest restored National Historic Landmark Districts in the nation. You will see 2.2 square miles of the Historic District showing over 270 years of rich history with its restored 18th and 19th century buildings and the waterfront where cotton warehouses are now restaurants, hotels, and shops. This beautiful city eloquently displays exquisite ironwork, ancient cobblestones, splendid mansions and picturesque cottages. You will see and hear about Factors Walk, Trustees Garden, City Market, and Colonial Cemetery. Enjoy a delicious Southern family-style lunch at Paula Deen's The Lady & Sons Restaurant. In the afternoon, enjoy a Trolley Tour of Savannah before checking into your hotel. Later, you will depart for Savannah's River Street District where you can browse in the unique shops and enjoy dinner on your own at one of the fine restaurants.
