We will start with a panoramic view of the "Pucllana Pyramid", an ancient Ceremonial and Archaeological Center built in the 4th century AD. Then we will go to the Historical Center of Lima. Where we will spend some time at the old square Lima and we will appreciate more than fifty monuments, and colonial buildings within which the Paseo de la Republica, La Alameda Chabuca Granda, Plaza San Martín, Plaza Mayor, Government Palace, El Municipal Palace, the Archbishop's Palace, The Cathedral Basilica, among others. We will also find the Monumental Ensemble of San Francisco, which constitutes the largest sample of colonial religious art in America. Where its main attraction is the visit to its subterranean crypts known as Las Catacombs. As your culinary tour progresses, you’ll dine at Huaca Pucllana, one of Lima’s best-known gourmet restaurants. Nestled in the heart of Miraflores, this unique restaurant boasts views of a pre-Colombian “huaca,” or pyramid temple, which is spectacularly illuminated at night. Finally, continue to the bohemian Barranco districts. In this up-and-coming artsy neighborhood, the cherry on top will be a sampling of traditional desserts. ¡Buen provecho!

After breakfast we depart at 08:00 to Lima airport. After our 40 minutes flight to Arequipa we drop our baggage at the Hotel and continue with our visit to the second largest city in Peru. The “White City” waits for us at the foothill of Misti Volcano. Enter the gates into the adobe brick walled community of the Santa Catalina de Siena Monastery that step back 400 years in time. Santa Catalina Monastery was begun in 1579, forty years after the city was founded. The monastery was enlarged over the centuries until it became a city within the city, about 20000 sq./m. and covering a good sized city block. Time off to enjoy the Main Square.

We leave from the hotel to Sabandía’s Mill, where we will see a museum where the force of the water grinds the beans to obtain flour, then we continue to appreciate the landscape via, named after the beautiful landscape that offers up to the Founder’s Mansion or Palace of Huasacache, XVI century mansion, then proceed bound to the Mirador de Sachaca, where you get a spectacular and beautiful view of the city, countryside and three guardians volcanoes (Chachani, Misti and Pichu Pichu).

After a relaxed breakfast, your private guide and driver will pick you up for a scenic drive to the town of Chivay. This will be your jumping-off point for the Colca Canyon. Today’s drive takes us through breathtaking landscapes and makes stops to mingle with Peru’s camelids at Pampa Cañahuas, to flock with migratory birds at Bofedales de Toccra and finally to gaze on Arequipa’s surrounding volcanoes at the outlook of Patapampa. As you look out to the snow-capped peaks of the Misti, Hualca-Hualca and Ubinas Volcanoes, breathe deeply and feel the peace of taking in something completely new!

When we arrive in Chivay, we will make our way to your hotel. In the afternoon you can choose to simply relax or to adventure to visit natural hot springs. The hot springs are an excellent option for relaxation, as the locals attribute healing properties to the soothing waters.

After breakfast, we head towards La Cruz del Cóndor, passing through beautiful landscapes along the banks of the Colca Canyon. During the trip to this beautiful natural viewpoint, we will stop at key points, in which spectacular views of the Colca Canyon are appreciated. Through our local guide we will learn many aspects about the different indigenous groups that inhabited and still inhabit the enormous Colca Valley. Later we will arrive at the famous Cruz del Cóndor, here we will have more than an hour to admire the natural beauty that the Canyon offers and also to observe the majestic flight of the Condor and make small walks around.

Today, you will visit Lake Titicaca’s islands via private boat. Lake Titicaca, at 12,500 ft. above sea level, is the world’s highest navigable lake. This means that, even when the strong Andean sun shines, the wind can be chilly so be sure to dress warmly with layers!

Your boat will take you out through the bay of Puno, past banks of reeds to the incredible floating islands of Uros. For hundreds of years, local people have constructed these small islands by hand from the native totora reed, continually refreshing the island floor. You will also see houses and boats cleverly constructed of the reed and a few solar panels providing illumination!

You will next motor to the island of Taquile. Outside the Bay of Puno, Taquile seems almost Mediterranean, with grassy cliffs falling toward the blue water. The residents of the island are incredibly friendly and are world-famous for being true masters of intricate knitting patterns! In the afternoon, your boat will slowly bring you back to Puno. Let yourself be lulled by the waves and the sun and when your boat docks you’ll be driven back to your hotel for the evening.

The road Puno to Cusco is also called the “Route of the Sun” offers old fashion Andean countryside, scenery and Incan ruins. This is by far the most popular and a fun way to ride a bus from Puno to Cusco. The Route of the Sun’s charm is magical and captivating, with several stops along the way, visiting churches, museums and Incan ruin. After breakfast, you will embark on a guided bus tour that will take you from the shores of Lake Titicaca to the Imperial City. Along the way, you’ll pass the highest point on your route at La Raya.

Surrounded by glorious snow-covered mountains and buffeted by chilly winds, you’ll marvel at the artisans who offer their wares at the roadside market. You will also visit a pre-Inca site at Pukara and the Inca outpost of Raqchi. Constructed on the Inca frontier, the stone and mud brick walls of Raqchi were meant to repel invaders from the South. Your final stop will be at the church in the tiny town of Andahuaylillas. Adorned with beautiful frescoes, gold leaf, and incredible wood sculpture, this church rightfully earns the title of the “Sistine chapel of the Americas.” As your bus journey comes to a close, you’ll see rustic suburbs transform into the historic center of Cusco where we’ll be waiting to meet you and bring you to your hotel in the historic city center. Take a hot shower, put your feet up, and watch the lights start to twinkle on the hills around the city!

After breakfast your private guide will proceed to illuminate Cusco’s rich tapestry woven by its inviting cobblestone streets, charming neighborhoods, and astounding landmarks. You’ll begin with vehicle, chauffered to the Sacsayhuaman Incan ruins above the city, then back into the city with the bohemian neighborhood of San Blas, known for its whitewashed adobe buildings and quaint blue balconies, home to generations of renowned Cusco artisans.

From there you’ll stop in at the colonial Cathedral in the Plaza de Armas, then down to the Santo Domingo monastery, perched atop the most sacred of Incan sites, the Qoricancha temple of the sun. Once bathed in 24-karat gold long-since pilfered by Spanish conquistadors, this temple is now an astounding blend of Incan stonemasonry and colonial architecture. Make sure to pause along the way to marvel at the incomparable Incan foundations supporting each building in the area, in particular at the 12-angled stone nestled in a wall that has withstood the test of time (as well as a couple of earth-shattering earthquakes!).

This tour starts at 8:30 we go by a paved road to the town of Pisac, located 32 km from the city of Cusco, you can appreciate the handicraft market of Pisac, located in the main square, you will find typical works in ceramics, leather and elaborate looms by the artisans of the place. Then, continuing the tour we will pass through the towns of Coya, Lamay, Calca, Yucay, Urubamba, observing beautiful flora and fauna during the tour that lasts approximately 45 minutes until we reach the city of Urubamba where we will have lunch in a cozy typical restaurant. In the afternoon we continue the journey to the town of Ollantaytambo. Overnight at Aguas Calientes.

After breakfast we will go up to the Inca city of Machu Picchu where we will have a formidable guided tour of approximately 03 hours to visit the famous Inca Complex. In the afternoon we will go down to the town of Aguas Calientes for lunch and at an appropriate time (13:37 or another time) board the return train to the city of Ollantaytambo, and from there board a bus to Cusco, arriving at 18:30 h approximately. (Depending on the train schedule, availability or availability)
