You will be transferred from Lima airport to your hotel. Plan to arrive in Lima after 2pm. So, you don’t have to pay early check-in. Remember this is a group tour and it will be only one bus leaving from the airport.
Later that day we will enjoy a delicious dinner and a spectacular dancing show at La Calendariarestaurant.Featuring the beauty of the best Peruvian dances of our coast, mountains and jungle, in a wonderful place to create a unique show that fills the nights of Lima with pride, passion and magic. The musical accompaniment of the dances is live, with an orchestra made up of musicians graduated from the National School of Folklore. After breakfast around 9am you will start with Lima City tour. This is a walking tour, because we believe that it is the best way to appreciate everything that we have around us; wear a comfortable walking shoe. We will show you the Historic Center of Lima from the perspective of architects and history lovers. We will see different squares and wonderful buildings from the XVI – XX century while we learn about the Peruvian culture and about our current reality. What makes our tour interesting is that we will go from the surface to an underground Lima visiting the famous San Francisco Convent and its mysterious catacombs. To make it a perfect experience for you, we will have the opportunity to make a Peruvian coffee tasting or we will offer you a local drink prepared based on quinoa (3 hours tour).
In the afternoon we will go for a Chocolate tasting experience. Eating chocolate and drinking coffee are one thing, tasting is another. That’s why we designed a series of tasting and pairing experiences to truly immerse you in this fascinating new world with all your senses. In this tour you will get the chance to sample four types of chocolate and one type of coffee and at the same time you learn the different cacao and chocolate producing regions of Peru. Then you will discover the nightlife of Lima in the bohemian district of Barranco. You will experience the historic and romantic Bridge of Sighs, the churches of the Barranco district and the beautiful architecture of its many buildings that display an authentic side of Lima, and delight in some spectacular sights of the Pacific Ocean. You will be transferred from your hotel to the airport to fly to Cusco on our private transportation. When you arrive, you will be transferred from Cusco airport to the hotel after a brief welcoming session. Cusco is not just a simple town; it is a place of man-made beauty. Some consider it a time machine of sorts because it is the oldest inhabited city in the western Hemisphere, now called the Archaeological Capital of America, and it is one of the new Wonders of the World. Free afternoon so you get acclimated to the high altitude.

Around 9am the Imperial Cusco City walking tour starts. You will visit four archaeological sites located 7 km northeast of the city. The first of these sights is going to be in Sacsayhuaman, where the Incas showed to the conquistadors the power of their Empire by building such an incredible place using huge stones that weight approximate 120 tons. The second of these sights will be Q’enqo, ceremonial center. The third one will be Pucapucara, control point that served as a kind of custom office and finally Tambomachay, a sacred place where Incas worshiped the water.

You will be picked up at 8:15am from your hotel to head to the Sacred Valley of the Incas. Along the way, you will make a stop to marvel at the classic view of the Urubamba River that is snaking its way through the valley.
Your journey continues to the small village of Pisac, where we will see the colorful typical handicraft market, and then we will visit the archeological complex of Pisac where our knowledgeable guide will explain the history and Inca architecture of this wonderful site. Afterward, our professional driver will take us to the next stop: Urubamba. Here, we will taste the best flavors of the regional cuisine in a restaurant. Then we will head to the most exciting archeological site, Ollantaytambo, known as the Inca living city because it keeps the originality of the streets, houses channels of water flowing by the middle of the lanes. An impressive archeological site can be seen here, made up of an enormous sculpture of the main Incan God called Wiracocha, carved on the mountainside. Then you will take to the hotel in Ollantaytambo where you will be staying for the night. (8 hours tour)

You will be pick up after breakfast around 8:30am to go to Quillabamba (jungle region of Cusco), famous for his Chuncho cacao variety. In this emerging cacao tour, we dive deeper into learning about different types of cacao beans grown in this region, how these specialized producers work, as well as making your own hot chocolate from scratch. Learn how these chocolate producers maintain an impeccable product with each batch and discover why farmers must ferment harvested cacao. Talk with the farmers and get to know how they live in the Peruvian countryside. Share with local family a little bit of your daily life as well. We will arrive at the local farm in Huayopata zone, where we will have lunch and a farm tour. Here we will also be able to taste the available fruit in season. This locally-owned and run farm is a small one that pertains to a cooperative organization in accordance with fair trade practices. You will also taste fresh cacao with different fruits, as well as prepare your own cup of hot cocoa.
Around 5pm we will head to Quillabamba (1 hour drive) where we will spend the night.

After breakfast we will travel towards the cacao farm in Echarati. The biggest region in the jungle of Cusco that produce cacao. After this visit to the farm, we will participate in the traditional roasting of cacao beans, At the end of this activity, we will al enjoy a cup of hot chocolate, which you will prepare using traditional methods. The family we will visit produces different types of cacaos one of which is the native one, well known as Chuncho, in this type we can find about 50 to 70 ecotypes in the valley and some at the farm. After lunch we will visit a local cooperative organization that exports cacao beans to learn about exportation, certification, and fermentation. Then we will head to Aguas Calientes where we will spend the night.

An early morning, but it will be worth it. You'll wake up at 4:30am and have breakfast in the hotel, then take a bus to the top of Machu Picchu for a breathtaking sunrise view of this wonder of the world.
Our guide will take you on a 2 hours tour around the ruins, teaching you all about the ancient Inca city. After the tour you will have free time to wander around and explore by yourself.
Alternatively, you can choose to spend the rest of your morning exploring the town and village in and around Machu Picchu. Your guide can tell you about different hotspots you can check out. At the arranged time we will return to Cusco by train and transfer you to your hotel.

We never can have enough chocolate experiences so we will visit Choco Museum. Visiting in an interactive way where the staff would be pleased to show you around and get to see and touch real cacao beans and pods. You will learn the chore process from the harvest to the chocolate production and transformation and of course you will taste the delicacies made with their selectin of organic Peruvian cocoa.

We will be immersed into a fascinating trip to the San Pedro Market, where you will be introduced to a vast variety of local and ancient product, learn about the history behind them and their impact in today modern Peruvian gastronomy. Later, we will invite you to our cozy cooking studio, located inside a colonial times house (two blocks away from the market), where you will step back in time to enjoy a modern Peruvian hands-on cooking class guided by a professional Peruvian chef. You will make Pisco Sour, a three course Andean/Peruvian inspired meal and an exotic fruit tasting dessert. All our menus can be adapted to special dietary needs. After this great experience you will say bye to Cusco and go back to Lima where you going to take your flight back to Seattle.
