If treks are part of your lifestyle, this one is especially for you. Choquequirao was one of the last Inca shelters to be in the middle of a canyon with a depth of more than 2000 meters and the Vilcabamba mountain range with its glaciers with 5000 meters high. This tour is one of the most exciting challenges, which is why you must have special preparation before doing the next itinerary, the reward at the end of the trip will be the great satisfaction of having done it in 3 intense days of walking.
We start this tour at 3:30 am, with the pick up from your hotel, make sure you take all your equipment to the Choquequirao trek. Then we will take our tourist transport to go to Cachora in 3 hours , then we will continue 1 more hour to get Capuliyoc (3000 meters high) where we will have our breakfast, and it going to be the beginning of our hike . Here we will meet with the entire team that will accompany us on the hike (muleteers and horses), from Capuliyoc we will have the first view of the archaeological complex of Choquequirao. We will begin to descend the mountain for 2 ½ hours along a zigzag path, we will pass Cocamasana and Chiquisca 1,800 meters high. At this last point it will be our lunch to then continue our hike to the Apurimac River and cross the bridge of Playa Rosalina 1,500 meters above sea level, then we begin to climb uphill for 2 ½ hours on average until we reach Santa Rosa, our first camp.
