The archaeological site of Choquequirao is located in the foothills of the mountain range of Salcantay, at 3035 meters above sea level, surrounded by the Apus of Yanama, Ampay, Choquecarpu, Pumasillo and Panta snow covered the right side of Apurimac river in the Santa Teresa district, province of La Convention department of Cusco. Choquequirao is an Inca town formed by small sites distributed in masonry, in adjacent buildings in a similar to those of the other regions placed on the top of the hill of the same name of Choquequirao complex metropolis.
