About this trip
Imagine a beautiful painting with gestures of color and light; a painting that expresses your power as an artist with complete confidence. Many artists are hesitant to explore the concepts of color, dramatic light, shadow, design and creativity. With little to no confidence they risk having a flat, uninteresting, timid work that they are disappointed in without understanding why. This course will take you and your work to a new level no matter where you are starting from. You will learn about concepts you have heard about but have not been able to put into your paintings — until now. Things like:
- how do I bring bolder color into my work?
- how do I design and create with confidence?
- how do I fill my paintings with eye-catching light?
- how do I paint with gestures that are energetic and loose?
- how can I use dramatic lighting to best effect?
- how do I learn to see with an artist’s eye?
- how can I prevent my painting from going sideways before it’s too late?
- how do I know my painting is finished?
- and so much more.
Many students have noted my unique style of teaching (grounded in adult learning principles) which include: demonstrations, group discussion, private thinking, experiential learning and fun exercises I’ve designed to teach the concepts you’ll need to be a more confident artist. My relaxed style will ensure you feel comfortable asking for help as I value meeting all my students one on one for more focused attention. We will also be having laughs, sharing ideas and using music to relax and paint to help you tap your creativity during our time together. Get ready for a day to day structure that will enhance and build on what we will learn each day; principles will be repeated until they form part of your body of knowledge and you will begin to effortlessly translate them into your paintings. My goal is that by the end of the week your confidence and skill set will be transformed into creating paintings filled with confident strokes
About Christine Camilleri
Christine Camilleri, AFCA, MPAC EP, IAPS M/C, PSA Assoc, OPA Assoc. is a Signature member artist with several art associations and has won multiple awards over her career. She has been featured in several publications including Pastel Journal, “Artists to Watch, 10 Painters Who Captured Our Attention in 2016”. She has had her paintings selected for calendars and books and has exhibited in the Vose Gallery in Boston, MA and the Salmagundi Gallery in New York City. She has received top award honors in shows and has been a juror and sought after instructor for many years. Her bold use of color was noticed by Gamblin who selected her painting “Summer Pastures” for a full page ad in an art magazine to sponsor their oil paints. She works in oils, pastels and acrylics.

Price is per person. Double Occupancy. You each have your own "sleeping nook" with fun and cozy privacy curtains and your own closet for personal items And your own bathrobe. You share an en-suite bathroom
We assign all students to rooms based on giving everyone a great space. All double occupancy rooms are in the main property
