Mount Vernon Holiday, Gaylord Holiday Exhibition (not ICE this year), capital wheel, U.S. Botanic gardens and more. You will begin your tour at Mount Vernon to celebrate Christmas like the Washingtons did in the 18th century. After a guided tour of the mansion Discover the real George Washington. Learn about Washington's first job as a surveyor, how he learned to lead during the French and Indian War, and his growing businesses at Mount Vernon at the Mount Vernon Museum. Savor the flavors of early America at the Mount Vernon Inn Restaurant, located just footsteps from George Washington’s historic estate. Warm up with our skillet cornbread and our Virginia Peanut & Chestnut soup. After your colonial Christmas experience you will check in to the Gaylord National Resort. You will have time to enjoy the new Holiday Exhibition during your stay at the Gaylord! Step in the grand atrium of the Gaylord National to see the lights and snowfall inside the building as well as the nightly “Tree Lighting Show”. You can also enjoy riding the Capital Wheel to take in all the views, or shuttle to MGM and Tanger Outlets. After a buffet Breakfast Friday morning in the Peinza restaurant, you can take some time to enjoy the hotel amenities and the National Harbor including MGM and Tanger outlets. Or you may choose to board the bus for some afternoon time visiting the Smithsonian Museum and National Zoo on your own. Before we depart for home on Saturday enjoy lunch on your own at one of the many restaurants in the National Harbor or within the Gaylord Hotel. A stop will be made on our return at the U.S. Botanical Gardens to see the amazing poinsettia displays and Christmas exhibits.
