About this trip

Classic Odyssey has been a dream of mine since 1991.
I fell in love with Poros Island on a visit with my dear friend, Pamela Rogers. We met on our first trip to Greece, she as a painter, me as a cook, on an art trip with B2 Jenkins in the early 80s.
Since then, I have hosted groups, family and friends or...

🐬What's different

My trips are different. You are immersed in the culture, welcomed as family and never want to leave. I have had guests return for the third and fourth time. What sets us apart from other “group trips” is the relaxed schedule. Poros is your home base and you are each taken care of according to your needs. If you want time alone to explore, it is yours.

🐬 Two weeks in Poros paradise

After all of these years of hosting a variety of people, I now have a great holiday that suits everyone’s needs. During these two weeks you will have the opportunity to hop to another island, Hydra, for the day, take a renowned Greek cooking workshop, enjoy a Greek BBQ on an organic olive farm, take a day trip to Naufplio, the first capital of Greece, and visit one of the famous wineries of the Nemea region, a top 100 vineyard, for a fabulous wine tasting.

You will walk with a guide on the historical Poros walk and learn the deep history of this island. We will also travel to breathtaking Epidavros for the classical bit. One of our guests favourites during the two weeks is a fishing trip with Captain Tassos. In the morning we will fish, and then, while Tassos is cleaning the catch, we will swim and snorkel in a secluded cove before our lovely lunch is served onboard. Some have booked a second trip! We will dance the night away at Greek Night. Maybe one day you will choose to sail or explore the island by moped.

The last day you'll spend in Athens. You'll be leaving Poros in the morning and arrive a bit after noon at your hotel in Athens. You can spend the afternoon and evening on yourselves exploring the city center, or optionally book a (guided) visit both the Acropolis and the spectacular Acropolis Museum and have dinner in Plaka.

Odyssey Suites, your home-away-from-home is ranked tops in all of Greece. Katerina, Rik, Dora and I, along with the amazing staff, will do our best to make sure that all of your needs are met. Your meals are fresh and organic, your rooms traditional and cozy and it is all directly across from one of the many beaches of Poros. If you choose to venture, there are many spectacular tavernas, cafes and shops in Poros Town.

If Odyssey Suites cannot accommodate due to high demand, then we can book for you similar lodging near Odyssey Suites with discount.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I get to Poros?
Most guests fly into Athens International Airport (ATH), either a day before the start of the holiday or on the arrival day itself. Your holiday starts in the port of Piraeus, Gate E8, where a ferry ticket will have been booked for you. After a one-hour ferry ride you'll arrive in Poros. After registration we'll be in contact with travel instructions and tips for an easy arrival.

Yes, we do our best to accommodate most dietary needs and allergies. We can easily accommodate gluten allergies, vegan, vegetarian, and other common dietary preferences. Can I come alone?
Of course. We'll make sure you’ll feel at home right away.

Is there free time?
Yes. Each day includes space to rest, read, swim, journal, or simply enjoy the location and coastline. You can be as active or as relaxed as you’d like—nothing is mandatory.

What if I have more questions?
Once you have signed up, we'll send detailed information covering your needs—packing lists, how to prepare, recommended hotels in Athens if you’d like to arrive early, travel tips, and answers to common questions. And of course, if anything else comes up, let us know, we’re here to help you.

About your organizer

At Odyssey our aim is that our guests are not coming home from their holiday with just some nice pictures. We love to create feelings with our guests. Feelings and memories that they will take back home and keep them in their hearts and minds forever.

We have created two beautiful environments on two different locations on and near Poros. Odyssey rooms with bistro, inner yard and library is located in Askeli on Poros. Odyssey Eco glamping with swimming pool, (almost) private beach and wonderful accommodations is located opposite Poros with a postcard view on the island.

Our of staff takes care sincerely of our guests. We have developed a number of activities that our guests can participate in while staying in either our apartments or glamping, such as Greek cooking classes, wonderful tours on the island or our farm, theme weeks for yoga, olive picking and more.
