About this trip

🌿 Classical Art of Riding Retreat 🌿
Experience horsemanship as the old masters taught it — the way of Baucher, La Guérinière, and beyond.

✨ Join us on a transformative journey that blends mindful yoga, the elegance of Classical Horsemanship, and the serenity of nature on our beautiful mountain farm. This retreat is designed to nourish your body, mind, and soul—while bringing lightness and balance to your riding.

🧘‍♀️ Morning Yoga: A Journey Through the Chakras
Start each day with a powerful yoga session led by an experienced yogi. We’ll travel through the chakra system, awakening strength, flexibility, and awareness in your body—just as we seek in our horses.

This yoga complements our riding work beautifully.
Classical riding is like yoga for the horse—connecting mind and body in harmony.

🍽️ After yoga, enjoy a delicious breakfast made from fresh, local ingredients.

🐎 Classical Art of Riding — As Taught by the old Masters

Our riding lessons follow the teachings of the great classical masters like François Baucher and François Robichon de La Guérinière, linked in a modern context. We follow the school of vertical riding.

🫱🏼‍🫲🏽 One-on-one instruction ensures that each rider receives individual attention and a deep, personal learning experience.

💡 You’ll also take part in interactive workshops, where we explore:

  • 🐴 The connection between the horse’s anatomy and spirit — and how this relationship shapes our training

  • 🧠 Why and how we always warm up our horses properly so they can carry us with ease

  • 🌀 The importance of structure in your riding to create a clear communication
  • ⚖️ The need for mobility and flexibility in the riding horse as a foundation for balance, pride, strength, and long-term health

  • 🌟 How to ride in a way that is beneficial to your horse’s health and positive development

  • 🕊️ How to ensure your horse feels just as good after the session as you do — light, relaxed, and proud

📚 This retreat is accompanied by a online course to jumpstart your training and take back learned exercises to practice at home.

It is designed for intermediate and experienced riders who want to deepen their understanding of riding and become their horse's best trainer.

Ride with wisdom. Train with compassion. Build a partnership that lifts you both. 🌟

Afternoons: Explore, Learn & Connect
Each day offers something special—whether it's time with the herd, peaceful reflection, or immersive learning.

🧖‍♀️ Enjoy luxurious hot springs in the nearby jungle
🍃 Hike in lush mountain forests
🦥 Watch wildlife in their natural habitat

Evenings of Peace
After a healthy dinner, fall asleep to the calming sounds of the jungle, filled with clarity, joy, and connection.

This retreat is a complete experience for horse lovers, and riders who want to briden their knowledge of horses and riding.
An educational holiday.

Come ride with us and brighten your knowledge of riding and horses together with our well trained happy horses and passionate trainer.

Reviews

Excellent! Finca Soley was one of the most wonderful trips I have ever had! I want to start arranging to go back asap! Very comfortable sleeping arrangements, beautiful healthy horses, top-notch yoga, great excursions to an on-site waterfall, medicine and edible garden, hot springs, river bathing and hiking, milking a cow. Daily horse communication theory classes and horseback riding training sessions, and 3 farm-to-table meals a day. I can't wait to go back!

The most amazing remote experience to reconnect with horses and learn new techniques of natural horsemanship. Isa is a great horse whisperer and teacher and her horses are all gentle and happy. The yoga taught by Annalea was excellent every morning, the food was fresh and delicious, the 15 acres of beautiful farm felt like home. The dawn chorus of bird species was a joy and the other solo travelers I met were awesome! I was lucky enough to see 6 toucans , an armadillo, a tayra, numerous types of hummingbirds, raptors. Bring binoculars and a bird species book!! Hot mineral springs was a big highlight too!!! Will be going back. I'm back addicted to riding again!

Exactly what I needed and beyond expectations. This is not a luxury holiday in terms of high end fancy but is perfect for those looking for an authentic restorative low-key time away. Great communication and hospitality from beginning to end. While wifi is available, I used this as an opportunity to fully disconnect and appreciate being present in quiet time reading and listening the sounds of birds and farm animals and conversations with hosts and small number of other guests in addition to the scheduled morning yoga and riding lessons and two excursions (hot springs and a chocolate tasting tour). Delicious meals (vegetarian with fresh everything and good seasoning), friendly and knowledgeable hosts, delightful fellow guests, and selecting the package option meant I had everything I needed. Just the yoga or the riding lessons would have been amazing and having the two together was perfection.

I had 9 fantastic days being a Volunteer at Finca Soley. The food was amazing and really fresh including homemade butter, cheese, eggs from their own chickens and chicken meat from the neighbors. I learned a lot about horses behaviors and their needs. In the time span that I had been there were no people my age (18) at the Finca but it was fine because I met some very lovely people to spend the free time in the cozy hammocks with. In exchange for more riding lessons I cleaned the 9 stalls, washed some horses and cleaned the dishes every evening for the guests which was a really good offer to me since I was the only one that didn’t book the Retreat Yoga-Programm and otherwise could not have taken part in a lot of activities. At the last day I was the only one left at the Finca and the family took me to their family trip to a circus nearby which was really nice and definitely a very caring and nice gesture. All in all, I would like to say thank you for this amazing experience and greetings from Germany to the whole family.
