Climb Cayambe and Chimborazo in the Ecuadorian Andes in 6 days. You will start with an acclimatization in Rumiñahui before heading to Cayambe Base Camp. After summit Cayambe, you will continue to Chimborazo, the highest peak in Ecuador. The ascent of Chimborazo is technical, but the panoramic view of the Andes is breathtaking. We provide you with all the necessary equipment and assistance for a safe and enjoyable mountain experience.
We start early in the morning around 07:00 am. Leaving from Quito we start our day with a 2-hour drive to the plateau of the Cotopaxi National Park and start hiking from the Limpiopungo lake located at 3.800 m / 12,464 ft. The hike normally takes four hours to the summit and two hours down. In the summit the mountain offers a fantastic view of Cotopaxi. We will also stop at some point to have lunch and finally we will drive to El Chaupi village.
