Machame route is the most of popular route on mount Kilimanjaro also its the unique route & recommended route on Kilimajaro mountain. The Machame route is approximately 31.6 km from Moshi to machame gate. The drive from Moshi to the Mount Kilimanjaro National Park Gate takes about 50 minutes. Along the journey drive to Machame gate hiker(s) will pass through the village of Machame which is located on the lower slopes of Mount Kilimanjaro. Hiker(s) will now leave the park gate and walk through the rain forest on a winding trail up a ridge. Lower down the trail can be muddy and slippery. Gaiters and trekking poles are recommended and are an excellent idea here! Hiker(s) will now continue a short distance until we reach the Machame encampment.
