CITY TOUR BOGOTA WITH GOLD MUSEUM & BOTERO MUSEUM.

We embark on a tour through the vibrant capital of Colombia. In the historic center, the capital displays its most nostalgic face.

Colonial buildings, theaters and galleries, libraries and museums line up with government buildings and palaces, rustic bakeries stand alongside copy shops and bookstores, and fruit and waffle vendors can be seen next to office workers and students.

The grand Plaza de Bolívar is surrounded by the most important government buildings and the Palace of Justice. We'll explore the colonial charm of its streets as we head towards the Botero Museum, which houses a wonderful collection of some of the most beautiful paintings and sculptures by Fernando Botero (closed on Tuesdays).

Along Carrera Séptima, Bogotá's bustling pedestrian zone, we reach the Iglesia de San Francisco, the city's oldest church. Then we'll marvel at Colombia's rich history and culture at the famous Gold Museum, where we can travel even further back in time and admire over 30,000 pre-Columbian gold pieces (closed on Mondays).

Afterwards, we return to our hotel.

In The afternoon, PLAYING TEJO, COLOMBIA'S NATIONAL SPORT

Are you up for some authentic local fun and ready to get your hands dirty and play some serious Colombian pub games? Then look no further, let's get to playing "Tejo"!

"Tejo" requires some skill and concentration - and some say a few beers. It is a popular pastime throughout Colombia and was originally a sport invented by the Chibcha people.

Metal discs, "tejos", are thrown at the targets, which are small gunpowder’s wrapped in paper, called "mechas". These are embedded in sand.

The aim is to hit these mechas with the tejo so that they set off a small explosion. If they do, you get points!

A private van picks us up from our hotel. We then spent a fun afternoon in one of Bogotá's rustics and utterly unadorned Tejo eateries - authentic to the core. We can look forward to beer, noise, music, cheering and laughter.

Included: Transfer from/to hotel and 2 national beers per person (which is also the entrance fee for the Tejo game).

Duration: approx. 2-3 hours

One of the most traditional nightlife experiences in the valley of Medellín is a visit of the “Fondas” – local bars with exotic decoration and typical Colombian music, located in the suburbs of the city.

The decoration of common artefacts, traditional appliances, paintings and religious icons reflects the cultural heritage of the so-called Paisa Culture. Back in the days the “Fondas” were traditional shops throughout the Andean mountains around Medellín where the farmer stopped to take a break with their mules and horses to enjoy the typical “Aguardiente” liquor.

Nowadays the “Fonda” is a very popular place for entertainment of the locals.

This tour takes you to several local “Fondas” where you try traditional food and drinks while listening to typical Colombian music. (Recommended on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturday in the evening hours).

We will travel to the flower village of Santa Elena, located in the mountains of Medellín. The cultivation of flowers has a long tradition in the region, making a visit to a farm to meet one of the "Silleteros" a unique experience.

Afterward, we will visit the "Parque Arví" Natural Reserve and take the MetroCable to Santo Domingo, a neighborhood in Medellín, to start our city tour.
