Guatapé is one of the most colorful towns in Colombia, a small paisa town where you can see the Piedra del Peñol and the peasant culture that intermingles with the indigenous and Antioquian history. According to geological studies, the stone of el Peñol is approximately 65 million years old and was formed by the collisions between tectonic plates that originated an outcropping of several rocks to the surface.
