About this trip

Our Fall escape to witness the beautiful color of the Blue Ridge Mountains begins as we travel to Historic Dahlonega, Georgia. We will start our day with a family-style lunch at the historic Smith House, which has been serving delicious, family-style country cooking for 100 years. As the legend goes, original owner Captain Hall literally struck gold as he broke ground on his home. Today, the mine shaft opening in the basement of the Smith House is the centerpiece of an exhibit that digs deep into the history of Dahlonega at the Smith House. Following lunch, we travel to the Dahlonega Gold Museum. Here, we will view massive gold nuggets, mine maps and equipment, and learn how in 1849, Dahlonega became the site of the country's first gold rush. After our tour, you will have plenty of free time on your own in downtown Dahlonega. After dinner on your own, at any of the restaurants in Dahlonega, we will get a good night's sleep at a local hotel before continuing our trip.

Following breakfast on day two, we will head to the town of Blue Ridge, Georgia to hop on the scenic Blue Ridge Scenic Railway. Southern Living Magazine recently classified the train ride as one of the top five attractions for experiencing fall color. The train snakes through the Chattahoochee National Forest along the beautiful Toccoa River to the mountain town of McCaysville. Here, we enjoy a wonderful lunch nestled in the mountains and free time along Main Street before we board the coach and head back home!

It was a great day trip. The transportation was clean and easy, our lunch was very good, and the experience as a whole was great fun. Our host, Mark, made sure that we were well taken care of. Definitely would travel with him again.

I thought the trip was well planned, well organized and well executed. Mark worked extremely hard to make it as easy as possible for the elderly seniors in our group--and he excelled expectations--GREAT JOB!! Getting in the HD backyard event went very smooth, he handled everything! Entering the stadium was also a breeze, thanks to Mark--Good job Again! We had good seat---50 yard line would have been slightly better. May be next time a box seats-IOI! Mark also got everyone to the bus in a very orderly manner with no delays. The bus was very nice, better then the last one to Greenville (BMW). The driver did a great job too! Smooth ride, got us there on time and maneuvered that big rig like a toy car!! Mark has very good communication skills and anticipates the needs of his customers---a real asset! When possible, we'll definitely travel with this organization again--first class!!! Keep up the good work, it is much appreciated! Darrell and Mary Woulf

I enjoyed this trip from beginning till the end. Was looking forward to see the Stadium and the surroundings. Everything was well organized, bus was nice and in best condition, the driver was very friendly and knew where she was going and was managing all the traffic very well. Mark was very caring and was very well prepared. The food at the Pre Party was good and the drinks too. The seats at the stadium where at a good spot to overlook the stadium and the game. Disappointing for me was the noise level in the stadium, older ears and heads somethings can't swollow steady noise for a longer time. Next time I would bring Earplugs or a head set. Great trip and well organized!

We loved downtown Greenville… especially the parks. Thanks for keeping us informed about where to meet , times, and your contact information. Also we appreciated the lunch recommendations. The BMW tour was great!
