Zoom Workshop
Crafting an Author Mission Statement

Who are you? Better yet, who do you want to be?

In this pre-Master Class Zoom workshop, we will take a page out of the corporate playbook to create an Author Mission Statement that reflects your brand and your goals. We'll also discuss the importance of revisiting that statement on a regular basis to guard against stagnation and wasted efforts.

Tuesday, September 10th, 7:00 p.m. (central)

This is a private event for Master Class attendees only. You will be provided with a Zoom link after registration.

The whole retreat was marvelous. The atmosphere S&J created for the group and the house fostered trust and coziness, facilitated fast relationship-building, and fed body, soul and dreams. The food was STELLAR. Bed was comfy. We were a tech-heavy group and we were all able to plug in or charge devices as needed without a crazy extension cord sitch. A few sadnesses were venue-related, including a non-working light/fan in the great room; no half-bath or "public" toilet on the first floor (all first floor facilities are inside private rooms); and a LOT of leaks (including some water-near-outlet concerns and an attendee who woke in a puddle of a bed) as the lengthy and WET thunderstorm hung out for over 24 hours. I look forward to the next S&J Writer Retreat and plan to attend. I would return to this venue if the light/fan and leaks were fixed... with hopes that private-room peeps will share their bathroom with the rest of the group.

This retreat was an amazing time to network with like-minded authors and learn from a diverse group of people in the publishing industry. I loved meeting others who ranged from first-time writers to well-established authors who have published several books. There were sessions they taught over burnout, scheduling, author Q&A, and more. The sessions were very helpful and I learned a lot! The food was 100/10 amazing, and the location was great! 10/10 recommend going to this retreat!
