About this trip

Spend a full day hiking inside Aconcagua Provincial Park, home to the highest mountain in the Americas, and reach Confluencia, the first camp used by expeditions heading toward the summit.

At around 3,400 meters above sea level, Confluencia offers a glimpse into the world of high-altitude expeditions, with climbers, guides, porters, and teams from around the world preparing for their journey up Aconcagua.

The hike covers approximately 14 km / 8.7 mi with 450 m / 1,476 ft of elevation gain, crossing high-altitude valleys and glacial rivers surrounded by the vast landscapes of the Central Andes. On clear days, you may also see Aconcagua’s dramatic south face and hanging glaciers.

This is a moderate hike, but a long and demanding full-day experience due to the altitude and approximately 400 km / 250 mi of round-trip driving from Mendoza.

For this reason, the day is organized with a professional mountain guide and a dedicated driver: your guide focuses entirely on the trail, your pace, safety, and park timing, while the driver handles the long mountain road.

A unique opportunity to walk the first steps of an Aconcagua expedition and experience the atmosphere of the highest mountain in the Americas.
