This 5-night retreat is a deep dive into systemic healing with horses in the wild beauty of Tula Vida.  This retreat offers space to explore what’s ready to shift and return to wholeness—guided by the land, the herd, and the field.

This 5-night retreat invites you into the heart of collective soul work and the quiet power of systemic constellations—in the sacred natural world of horses and the wild, living landscape of Tula Vida. 

Here, we explore the Knowing Field, where ancestral, personal, and collective stories rise to the surface as we open to the intelligence of the heart — beyond stories, analysis, or fixing — and welcome what wants to be seen, felt, and known.

Here, personal healing becomes a doorway into the greater whole. Here, we reweave connection—with self, others, and the unseen.

You will be guided through:

🌿 Constellations with horses—facilitated on the land, where horses engage authentically and attune to the energies in the field, often illuminating what lies just beneath the surface.

🌿 Equine-led healing—let the horses support you in your own healing or self-discovery journey with facilitated experiential horse-led sessions.

🌿 Somatic and energetic practices to help you stay connected to your body, breath, and heart.

🌿 Spaces of reflection and integration—in silence, in circle, around the fire, or under the stars.

🌿 Unstructured time for rest and reconnection— to be with nature, journal, wander the land, or sit quietly with a horse.

Constellation work reveals that we are not isolated beings, but part of vast systems of belonging— family, lineage, culture, and earth.  Often, what we carry is not ours alone.  Entanglements, inherited burdens, and unresolved grief can be passed through generations.  

This work invites what has been hidden or excluded to return to the whole, restoring flow, order, and connection.

The horses bring something rare: a grounded, unfiltered presence. 

Horses are natural constellation holders — uncensored, intuitive, and always in the present moment.  They don’t analyze.  They don’t fix.  They respond to truth, and they invite us into alignment — just by being.  In the field of a constellation, their movements, stillness, interactions or sudden shifts often bring what has been unseen into awareness, helping us find a path through.  Add in the abundant and vibrant nature, wildlife and weather of Costa Rica, and it's a rich field to explore.

Away from the sights and sounds of busy human life, we have created an oasis for both humans and horses. Every time we step onto the land we feel the power of the natural world to soothe, nourish and restore us.  The nature, the weather and all the wildlife are a big part of any teaching, healing and experiences you have here.   

Tula Vida Ranch

Tula Vida Ranch is surrounded by 3 volcanos, an expansive sunset view and pristine rainforest, with rivers, springs and ponds - the horses roam freely in this stunning environment where you will find you can breathe more deeply and re-discover your flow.

Accommodation

Our rooms are beautiful and comfortable with a terrace and individual bathrooms.  

The Villas has double rooms with private bathrooms and a stunning terrace. The Lodge has private rooms next to our dining area and below our rooftop yoga deck.

Nourishment

Meals are home-cooked with love, using fresh local ingredients.  Our water comes from our abundant natural springs and we have air fresh from the trees to breathe - everything is designed to be in harmony with the surroundings and support your mind, body and spirit to rest, re-energise and renew.

Environment and Herd

We are 100% off-the-grid with our own solar power and fresh spring water living in harmony with nature while remaining a safe, comfortable human retreat. We even have good internet!

We have planted 1000s of trees and plants already, including a food forest and a nursery for endangered trees, to encourage the forest to regenerate and give wildlife corridors to pass through the neighbouring national parks.  It is a true sanctuary for all visitors, which includes shy tapirs, rare bell-birds and plenty of toucans, sloths and monkeys.

Our herd of 14 rescue horses roam the land as a herd.

We spend a lot of time out on the stunning 80 acre property - with trails, rivers, waterfalls, valleys, primary rainforest and abundant wildlife - truly accessible nature.  

Tula Vida Foundation is a 501c charity registered in the US with a mission to rescue horses in Costa Rica and sponsor people to come for transformational horse experiences and retreats.

A visit to us supports not just yourself but also the natural environment, the rescue horses, the local community who work with us and people without the means to have these kind of experiences.

This retreat is designed for those who have some prior constellation experience or knowledge and are ready to dive in deeper.  No horse experience or comfort level with horses is required.
