What an unforgettable and educational experience climbing to the top of the highest active volcano in El Salvador. Francis was fluent in English and patiently care for all of our family as we embarked in the hike to the crater top. Through it all, Francis gaged the pace of the hike and adjusted accordingly; however, even my over 70 year old mother felt comfortable on the hike and I believe it was attributed to Francis expertise. Our pick up was on time, and the drive provided an opportunity to learn more about the country. This was a once in a lifetime opportunity to climb an active volcano and experience the awesomeness of nature. My two sons and wife commented that this was their favorite part of our vacation. Thank you Francis for your knowledge and expertise, and most of all for your genuine care for the tourism industry of El Salvador. Please continue your commitment to educate tourist to our beautiful country and for showing them the beauty that lies within it.

Warning for Solo Travelers and Families – My Experience with El Salvador Positive Tours. I want to share my experience with El Salvador Positive Tours, particularly for solo travelers or parents traveling with children. I initially booked several tours with the company. While some went smoothly, my final experiences were deeply uncomfortable and, frankly, alarming. During an airport transfer, the driver (Francis) made inappropriate comments, repeatedly suggesting I was romantically interested in him—even though he admitted to having a girlfriend. He kept trying to hold my hand, and I had to ask him to stop multiple times. As a solo female traveler, this was completely unacceptable and made me feel unsafe. After leaving an honest review about the situation on TripAdvisor, I began receiving messages that I interpreted as intimidation—urging me to remove the review. The communication escalated to what I feel was an attempt to extort me into silence, including threats that made me fear for both myself and my children. I eventually removed the review out of fear. I’ve since learned I am not the only person who has had a negative experience. I want others to be aware before booking. There are many reputable tour operators in El Salvador—this just wasn’t one of them. Please stay safe and do your research. If something feels off, trust your instincts.
