Who Is This Retreat For?

Are you a surfer who has mastered the foundations and is ready to take your surfing to the next level?

This retreat is designed for surfers who are comfortable and confident in the lineup and able to independently manage themselves and their equipment in a variety of ocean conditions.

You Should Be Comfortable With:

• Paddling into and catching your own waves
• Wave selection and positioning
• Following the line of the wave
• Reading ocean conditions
• Handling yourself confidently in the lineup
• Duck diving or turtle rolling
• Managing your board safely around others
• Surfing independently without assistance

You do not need to be an expert in all of these skills. However, having a solid foundation and confidence in the water will ensure you get the most out of this unforgettable experience.

Throughout the retreat, Kassia, Anaïs, and Eric will help you refine your technique, improve your flow, build confidence, and deepen your understanding of wave riding.

As we are traveling to the Mentawai Islands, all waves break over reef and conditions can occasionally become more powerful, even during the shoulder season. For this reason, participants must be competent surfers capable of catching their own waves and navigating the lineup safely and confidently.

We will not be pushing surfers into waves.

This retreat is designed for intermediate to advanced surfers looking to elevate their skills on longboards, mid-lengths, single fins, and alternative craft.

Kassia Meador

Kassia is one of the most influential longboarders of her generation. Ranked World No. 2 on the WSL Women's Longboard Tour in 2011, she is renowned worldwide for her graceful style and was famously named the "Queen of Noseriding" by The New York Times.

In 2015, she launched KASSIA+SURF, a wetsuit company designed by women for women. Beyond surfing, Kassia has dedicated much of her life to healing arts and personal transformation. Since 2011, she has worked with sound and vibrational therapy, and since 2019 has studied energy medicine. She is a trained holographic sound practitioner and a licensed craniosacral and polarity therapy practitioner. She is focusing her energy on supporting people have more fun in the water by upleveling their surf flow and unlocking new levels of joy and empowerment in the water and integrating it with their lives on land.

Anaïs Pierquet

Anaïs is a surfer, retreat host, and storyteller who left her native France over a decade ago in search of a life more aligned with her heart.

Feeling disconnected from the pace and expectations of modern life, she followed an inner calling that led her to Bali, where surfing became a powerful catalyst for healing, self-discovery, and transformation.

What began as a personal journey evolved into a mission: helping others reconnect with themselves through the ocean. Through her immersive surf retreats, Anaïs combines world-class waves, mindfulness, adventure, and meaningful human connection to create experiences that inspire confidence, freedom, and personal growth.

With a background in design and years of experience guiding surfers both in and out of the water, she believes surfing is about far more than technique. It is a pathway to presence, resilience, joy, and a deeper relationship with ourselves.

Eric Gross

Eric is a born-and-bred Malibu surfer, surf coach, and all-around legendary human.

Raised in the iconic waves of Southern California, Eric became the Professional Longboard Association U.S. Champion at just 17 years old.

He is also the surfer Kassia credits with teaching her how to noseride. Their lifelong friendship was built through years of sharing waves, adventures, and a deep love for surfing.

Today, Eric combines his surfing expertise with his work in mental health, rehabilitation, and recovery. Known for his intuitive coaching style and grounded presence, he helps surfers build confidence, awareness, and connection both in and out of the water.

Above all, Eric is a devoted father who continues to share the joy and wisdom of surfing with the next generation.

If you have to cancel due to illness or other reason please let us know right away and we can work together to find a replacement for your spot. If we can replace your spot in time your deposit and any other monies paid will be refunded minus a $500 service fee. 

We understand things can happen last minute. That is why travel insurance is mandatory. Please get it the moment you book your trip!

International Flights - 

Please make sure your final destination to meet us is PADANG Indonesia and that it is also the airport you fly of on your way home. 

Arrival and Departure in and out of PADANG, INDONESIA - 1 day before the start of the trip starts and 1 day after the trip finishes

This trip begins March 16th and ends March 27th

*** This means you need to arrive into Padang March 15th and book your departure home from Padang for March 28th. We will have a 1 x night stay before and after the trip in a transfer hotel in Padang. The 1 night stay either side of the retreat is included in your trip package. 

*** If you wish to stay more than 1 night either side of our journey to get acclimated to the time change. We can help you arrange that please let us know and that will be an extra fee of $50

You will be staying at Botik Resort. A small and private resort located on a beautiful island paradise in the Northern Mentawai's.  There are many epic waves in the area all accessible within a 10-40 minute boat ride from Botik. As this is a small private island there are no shops or anything else on the island so please bring all you need to make your stay comfortable. There is WIFI in the restaurant area where you will be having 3 meals a day. And there is a yoga shala where we will have our Yoga, Sound and Meditation Sessions. 

There are 4 x luxurious bungalows on the island that will be your home for our time together. Think of the Bungalows as small houses. There will be 4 guests per bungalow in the 3 larger Bungalows with 2 guests upstairs in a large shared space and 2 guests downstairs in a large shared space. Each bungalow has 1 to 2 large shared bathrooms. 

There is 1 stand alone Bungalow that is also great for a couple or 2 friends traveling together. It is first come first serve basis so please let us know how we can support you if you are a couple traveling and wanting more privacy.
