About this trip

Costa Rica Adventure/Yoga Retreat- May 18-25, 2018

We are so excited to head down to the beautiful "Osa" in Costa Rica again! We will be your hosts, Jeremy Godo Kiss & Michelle Gierst.

El Tumbo De Las Olas has been our summer nesting place for the last six years and we want to share this beautiful place & retreat center with you.  May 18- May 25th, 2018.

El Tumbo is a private luxury eco-lodge set on five acres where the ocean and rainforest meet in a stunning embrace. Tumbo's Casa Grande is a two story luxury estate with a floor plan designed for communing with friends, family, and the natural world. The open walls and unique architectural fingerprint invite the sights and sounds of the land to captivate and enchant guests.

We are inviting those from near and far to come enjoy this sacred space which has been specially designed with a unique architectural fingerprint supporting a wide range of practices and a unique interaction with the surrounding jungle. The property is a prefect yoga haven, an exotic adventure retreat and a miniature private resort experience all wrapped into one.  Tumbo's yoga shala is unlike any other and practicing in this space in the jungle is an exerience to remember.

Other activies while staying at El Tumbo will be stand up paddling, paddle surfing, surfing, (maybe learning to surf the calm waters of Pan Dulce bay), hiking, waterfalls, tree climbing, playing with monkeys or just sitting by the pool or hammock relaxing.

The Osa is one of the most beautiful and wild parts of this country and home to 2.5% of the world’s biodiversity. Osa is the only place in Costa Rica where you’ll find four species of monkeys—squirrel, spider, white-face capuccin and howler monkey—and Osa is one of Central America’s best locations for birders. Nearby Corcovado National Park is home to many of the country’s endangered animals such as pumas, jaguars, scarlet macaws and the great harpy eagle.

Experience the intensity and inspiring majesty of the Osa Rainforest and the Golfo Dulce. Appreciate the diversity and natural beauty of the Costa Rican country and its culture.  Indulge in healthy, inspiring dishes, incorporating a wide selection of locally sourced fresh organic ingredients by two brilliant Costa Rican Chefs, Sandra and Angelica.

Before You Go

Your $500 deposit secures your spot for the retreat along with your retreat pricing. ****Your deposit is nonrefundable.

Space is limited to a small number of participants (max 12-16) to ensure we keep the integrity and experience exceptional. Your deposit secures your spot, but also takes away a spot from someone else, therefore, we are unable to refund any deposit.

Costa Rica is a tropical environment with daytime temperatures ranging from mid 75's to mid 85's and night time temperatures around 8-10 degrees cooler. Water temperature is about 82-85 degrees.  There can be rain and it can be humid but the cool amazing water of Pan Dulce or the pool located on site will keep you in perfect temperature.

The retreat center is located outside of Puerto Jimenez about 40 minute drive at the tip of the Cabo Matapalo, Osa Peninsula, Costa Rica

In addition to your everyday attire, keeping in mind Costa Rica's weather while you're visiting, we recommend a bathing suit, hat, sunglasses, sunscreen, slippers (flip-flops), a light rain jacket or sweatshirt and hiking shoes or old tennis shoes to hike in.  Once your spot is booked we will send you a full packing list.

The most important thing is to come with an open mind and positive attitude. You'll be sharing meals and car rides with your hosts and fellow participants. While your hosts will provide the majority of your adventure descriptions and yoga training, the goal of each retreat is to build strong bonds between all those in attendance, to share knowledge and struggles with each other and to walk away from this experience with confidence, inspiration and focus to return home.

Thank you!

Michelle & Jeremy

Things you need to know!

You must know how to swim if you plan on doing any of the water activies with the group.

Please take a open water paddleboard lesson before you head to Costa Rica with us, this way you will know how to paddle and entry and exit the water safely.

You don't need any yoga experience at all, we cater to beginners that have a desire to do yoga in any form, including just breathing with the group or lying and breathing with the group.

You must be wiling to live in a dormitory style housing, you will have your own bed/room that is seperated by curtain but will need to share bathrooms with like minded guests.  This retreat center is mostly open aired, we are in the jungle.  The rooms are cleaned daily and the retreat center is very secure.  Our retreat hosts, Felipe and Angelica take the upmost care of all of us while we are at El Tumbo.

Weather can change on a daily basis, usually there is a light rain later in the afternoon.  There can we humid days and the ocean can be perfectly flat or a swell can come in to make the ocean a bit more challenging.  We cannot forsee any of this weater.  But during the month of May the weather is really nice and the ocean is warm and inviting.

A perfect balance of sand, water, yoga, adventure, and peace. The resort in La Paz was a fantastic home base for five days of fun with an amazing group of travelers. Michelle is definitely the hostess with the mostest! Can't wait for next year's retreat.

This was a boost for the body, mind, and soul. There was just the right amount of organized yoga, meditation, SUP, boat and town trips. The food was delicious. The conversation the real delightful surprise. I’d do this again in a heartbeat.
