About this trip
Traveling as a family can be an amazing experience, but can provide its challenges as parents. That's why I created the Family Retreat as a way to see the world as a family, but with a little extra support. Enjoy 6 days and 5 nights in paradise at Ylang Ylang Resort. Montezuma is a beautiful, quaint beach town in Costa Rica where the jungle meets the ocean. The resort is a small, family run property right on the beach that connects to a nature reserve. The food on the resort is fresh and organic, the wildlife is abundant and the beaches are quiet.
The retreat will be a mix of family time, hanging out with other families with kids and a little bit of time for parents to exercise and eat while the kids play with babysitters on the property. The price of the trip includes breakfast and dinner daily, a daily yoga class for parents as well childcare during yoga and at dinner time. Each family also gets a mini photo shoot on the beach with a professional photographer! Pictures will be emailed to you following the trip.
Getting To/From Montezuma
International Flight:
You can book your international flights into San Jose, Costa Rica (SJO) or Liberia (LIR).
Getting to Montezuma:
Option 1: Book a short, puddle jumper flight from SJO or LIR to Cobano Airport. Please note that there are limited daily flights between Liberia and Cobano. You can book the puddle jumper flight with Costa Rica Green Airways or Sansa Airlines. Please plan to arrive in Cobano by 3pm on February 8th. I will arrange a taxi from Cobano to the resort in Montezuma (10 minute drive).
Option 2: If you prefer not to take a puddle jumper, you can also take a boat. This option is only available if you fly into SJO. You can book the shuttle + boat through Zuma Tours. They will pick you up from the airport and you will drive to Jaco (1.5 hour drive) where you will board a boat and take the boat all the way to Montezuma (1 hour). The hotel will pick you up from the main beach and bring you to the resort (10 minutes).
The lodging
We will be in one section of the resort. All room options are in the same area and all have a beach view. The kids can play freely in the outdoor space in front of the rooms. The 2 bedroom units have 2 queen beds, one bath and are one story. The 3 bedroom units have 2 queen beds as well a king bed in a loft. All units have an ocean view patio.
Childcare
Childcare will be provided while parents take a daily yoga class and eat dinner. Childcare providers are locals that I have used many times over the years for my families own childcare needs and are wonderful with kids of all ages.
Cancellation Policy
Deposits are nonrefundable and nontransferable. Your full balance is due by October 1st and is nonrefundable at that point.

Located on the ground floor with easy access to the beach, rooms include a covered open-air sitting area overlooking the ocean. Here, you can relax and unwind as you hear the local wildlife in the trees.
