About this trip
Traveling with children can be an amazing experience as a family, but can provide its challenges as parents. That's why I created the Family Retreat as a way to see the world as a family, but still get a little time for yourself. Enjoy 6 days and 5 nights in paradise at Ylang Ylang Resort. Montezuma is a beautiful, quaint beach town in Costa Rica where the jungle meets the ocean. The retreat will be a mix of family time, hanging out with other families with kids and a little bit of time for parents to exercise and eat while the kids play with babysitters on the property.
Wake up and have breakfast as a family in the open air restaurant looking out at the ocean. Babysitters will be on site from 9-10:30 while parents have the option to take a yoga class or have a little time to yourself. The afternoon is free to play at the beach, hang at the pool or go out on an excursion. Lunch is not included in the price. You can eat at the resort restaurant, enjoy lunch by the pool or take a 10 minute walk into town and explore a local restaurant. The babysitters will be back on site at 5pm to feed the kids dinner while the parents have an opportunity to shower or have a little down time before dinner. Adult dinner is at 5:45pm.
Approximate Daily Schedule:
Between 7-9am Breakfast on own
9:30am Morning Yoga + childcare/ kids activities
Beach, Pool, Excursion Time, Lunch on own
5pm-7:30 Childcare/ Kids Dinner
5-5:20pm Family Photo shoot on your designated day
5:45pm Parents Dinner
The price of the trip includes breakfast and dinner daily, a daily yoga class as well as childcare from 9-10:30am and 5-7:30pm. Each family also gets a mini photo shoot on the beach with a professional photographer! Pictures will be emailed to you following the trip.
Getting To/From Montezuma
International Flight:
You can book your international flights into San Jose, Costa Rica (SJO) or Liberia (LIR).
Getting to Montezuma:
Option 1: Book a short, puddle jumper flight to Cobano Airport. Please note that there are limited daily flights between Liberia and Cobano. You can book the puddle jumper flight through with Green Airways or Sansa Airlines. Please plan to arrive in Cobano by 3pm on February 8th. I will arrange a taxi from Cobano to the resort in Montezuma (10 minute drive).
Option 2: If you prefer not to take a puddle jumper, you can also take a boat. You can book this through Zuma Tours. They will pick you up from the airport and you will drive to Jaco (1.5 hour drive) where you will board a boat and take the boat all the way to Montezuma (1 hour). The hotel will pick you up from the main beach and bring you to the resort (10 minutes).
Cancellation Policy
Deposits are nonrefundable and nontransferable. Your full balance is due by September 15th and is nonrefundable at that point.

The set up of this room is similar to a hotel with 2 queen beds, a bathroom, a mini fridge and coffee maker. Located on the ground floor with easy access to the beach, rooms include a covered open-air sitting area overlooking the ocean. Here, you can relax and unwind as you hear the local wildlife in the trees.
