Experience the highlights of Costa Rica’s vast landscapes. Start off in San Jose and drive to La Fortuna, home to Arenal Volcano in the lush, northern lowlands. Learn how to make tortillas and sugar cane juice, assist a reforestation project and soak in the nearby, hot springs. Head to higher elevation and visit Monteverde cloud forest, a unique eco-system offering a variety birds and picturesque views of high ridges and deep canyons- a spectacular location for the optional zip-lining amidst the tree canopies and hanging bridges.

Our portfolio of boutique, locally-owned lodges will ensure you travel in comfort. Start the journey in La Fortuna located at the base of the towering Arenal Volcano. Our bright, charming hotel boasts a pool and is the perfect place to unwind after the journey to Costa Rica. The next two nights are spent at a mountainside hotel in the Monteverde Cloud Reserve. Surround yourself in its cozy gardens and lush green landscapes with nature all around. End the trip with three nights at a locally-owned coastal hotel adjacent to the beach near Manuel Antonio National Park. Surrounded by rainforest and not far from the Pacific coast beaches, this will be the perfect way to end the journey!

We’ll spend the next morning immersing ourselves in local culture, visiting a rural community and experiencing their way of life. Get involved as you participate in a pure sugar cane juice and tortilla making class a local home.

Learn About Cacao
Guests with a sweet tooth are in luck this morning, when we’ll delve into a hands-on program all about the cacao bean – the source of chocolate and cocoa. We’ll learn the story of this crop, from harvesting to production, before enjoying the finished product. In the afternoon, hit the road to Manuel Antonio for a nice dinner and relaxing evening.

We'll be staying in Quepos, a lively surf town on Costa Rica’s western coast. Costa Rica is a country of mountains, so be prepared for your longest drive today - through beautiful winding roads with stops along the way.

If you’re feeling adventurous, spend this morning enjoying an optional ride on the Class I and Class II rapids of the Rio Savegre. If you’re not much of a thrill seeker, join the rest of the group to hike through the beautiful landscapes of Manuel Antonio National Park, spotting birds and wildlife as you go.

Wildlife Rescue
Wildlife lovers are in for a treat this morning, as we head to a local rescue center that helps to care for injured and at-risk animals from the area’s rainforests and coastline. Residents include sloths, toucans, monkeys, and anteaters; you’ll help prepare the animals’ food while learning more about Costa Rican wildlife. Tonight, we’ll enjoy a farewell dinner together as the group prepares to depart tomorrow.
