About this trip

Ladies! Fly south and join us in Costa Rica’s Osa Peninsula for an all women’s adventure. Experience the luxury of seclusion with fun outdoor adventures like nature hiking, kayaking, and a zip-lining to help you explore the wild lowland rainforest.

The Costa Rica womens adventure provides women with access to a part of Costa Rica that is a bit more complicated for the average tourist to get to. The Osa Peninsula is on Costa Rica south west coast. It is one of the most bio-rich places on EARTH, and one of the few places in the world where all three species of monkeys, big cats, and tapirs still roam…wild! Here lush jungle meets black sand beaches, scarlet Macaws streak across blue skies, Howler Monkeys are your morning alarm clock, and your natural rhythms are restored by sunrises and sunsets. The goal of the Costa Rica womens adventure is to help you see as much wildlife as possible, teach you outdoor skills to help you explore, and to introduce you to the ecology of the rainforest though first-hand observation and naturalist-led activities.

The remote accommodations for the Costa Rica womens adventure give us access to spectacular locations to explore by foot, paddle, and snorkel to see and learn about animals and plants of the Osa Peninsula. Your guide Pepé is an amazing storyteller and will use his vast knowledge and gift of teaching to share with you the complex relationships of plants and animals in the rainforest. He is an expert at spotting animals and will give participants unforgettable guided nature walks. You will feel like you are discovering the rainforest like a true explorer.

Had a great time rafting the Salmon river. Wonderful group of ladies, great food, awesome guides. Camping was fun. Tents and mattresses very comfortable! Will definitely travel with green edventures in the future!

Amazing trip in a lot of ways! The Aggripah staff were wonderful cooks and guides. The scenery was out of this world. The experience of being in the wilderness will never be forgotten. My mettle was tested when it got very cold and windy, heavy dry bags to pack, and sleeping on the hard ground before I realized how the Thermarest was suppose to work. Meeting different types of women all over the U.S. with different thought patterns and lives than mine was eye opening. It was a demanding trip yet doable and educational. I believe the trip has strengthen my character. I would highly recommend the trip but the trip is not for the faint hearted!

I absolutely loved this Salmon River rafting trip with Tara Short and Green Edventures. Tara is very experienced in providing the perfect vacation adventure and always teams up with excellent partners such as Aggipah River Rafters. I loved the entire experience and enjoyed the challenges getting there and along the River but always felt safe. Great, great food, highly skilled and super friendly staff and other partners made the trip so memorable! Thanks once again Tara!

This was my first trip and I had an amazing experience. The views of the mountains and river were spectacular. The rafting guides were wonderful too, so friendly and knowledgeable. The food blew me away-- 3 delicious meals every day on the river and always a variety. Amazing women on an amazing journey. I hope to travel with Green Edventures again.

GreenEdventures Iceland Laugavegur Trek experience August 8-14, 2021 was one of the highlights of my life. It was an adventure that I was honored to share with close personal women friends, and acquaintances who now I call my friends. The landscape of Iceland is magical. Around every corner there is something new and unexpected that takes your breath away. Tara Short is an amazing leader, as are all the partners with whom she’s aligned. They are knowledgeable about the area, they communicate and teach, they are safe and concerned about the participants, but even more, they become part of the group! They are fun! Tara Short promotes laughter and has a spark about her that brings everyone together from the beginning to the end. We had a spectacular time sharing the sun, river crossings, gas station ice cream, hot springs, Blue Lagoon, and sleeping head to toe with each other. Our trek leader, Elo’, provided us with delicious food to nourish our bodies, and smiles and laugher to nourish our souls! We cheered each other on, and clinked glasses at the end to celebrate our accomplishment. I have and would recommend this trip to any free-spirited woman that wants to explore the beauty of the country, the quirkiness of Reykjavik and the travel in between. Thank you Tara Short and GreenEdventures. I look forward to new experiences with GreenEdventures! Diane Richardson

I just returned from the Wisconsin Women's Tour and couldn't have asked for a better trip! For me, the amount and type of activity were perfect. Who know there was so much to discover practically in my own backyard?
