About this trip

Need a getaway in the middle of winter to relax, do yoga and be surrounded by nature? Dearest friends, Theresa Briggs and Kari Jacobsen, co-lead this yoga and relaxation retreat.

"In a private paradise in the lush Osa Peninsula monkeys sometimes swing in the trees while we practice yoga, hammocks are on every porch and the food is the most colorful bounty of deliciousness you could imagine.  We offer a variety of yoga styles, depending what the day calls for.  Yoga in one of two gorgeous studios every day. A stunning beach. Pool & hot tub. Hammocks. Amazing, healthy food from their incredibly talented chef. Optional massages, excursions and activities. FUN. Take a minute... think back to last winter.  Now, do it, book yourself a nourishing vacation!  Newbies to yoga completely welcome! "

Pricing per person below includes seven nights lodging, transfer to/from Puerto Jimenez airport, three meals/day and a glass of wine with dinner plus unlimited Costa Rican coffee. We typically practice yoga twice a day- a longer/active practice in the morning before breakfast and a shorter/quiet practice in the evening before dinner.  Optional meditation offered before morning practice.

Theresa and Kari ignited their shared love of adventures together with one very long spontaneous night to get a hug from Amma the suburbs of Massachusetts. Since then they have traveled to Costa Rica, the Caribbean and beyond to laugh, explore, meditate and do yoga. Combined, Theresa and Kari have taught yoga for nearly twenty years. They specialize in a variety of hatha yoga styles (yin and restorative included) as well as meditation and yoga nidra. Both have background in Craniosacral Therapy.

Reviews

Thanks so much to Kari and Theresa for this wonderful week of yoga and relaxation. It was truly the perfect combination of yoga/meditation practice and relaxation. I particularly valued and admired how tuned in both instructors were to the individual needs of their students. Classes were both challenging and rewarding. The setting was truly a paradise and the food was phenomenal! I returned to the remainder of my NH winter with a warmth and openness that has inspired me to continue practicing yoga, meditation and relaxation...I've added the visualization of being in my new favorite "happy place" at the Iguana Lodge on the Osa Peninsula in Costa Rica to get me through the rest of winter. Thanks for everything and I hope to be able to practice with you again in the future. Namaste!?
