Enjoy the sunshine and clean desert air as you retreat from city life and tuck into life on the historic and beautiful dude ranch - Rancho de la Osa in Sasabe Arizona. The moment you drive through the ranch gates, you can feel the magic of the ranch as you begin to unwind, breath deep and begin to decompress.
Begin your day with a meditation practice, followed by a Vinyasa flow yoga class. Refreshed, awake and ready for the day, find your way to the community dining room and enjoy breakfast with your yoga retreat community as well as other guests on the ranch.
After breakfast, explore the hundreds of undisturbed acres on the ranch on horseback, guided electric fat tire bike ride, guided UTV tour or simply wandering around on foot.
After you've worked up your appetite, convene again in the dining room another delicious meal, homecooked by the ranch chef. Please let your retreat leader know ahead of time if you have food restrictions and the chef will plan accordingly.
Afternoons are for siestas! Head back to your room, or find a cozy spot on the ranch, and experience what many of us in the Southwest know - siestas are refreshing and a great way to restore our energy for the rest of the day.
Refreshed from your siesta, you can spend the rest of the afternoon riding again, or on one of the other ranch activities. You can skip the organized ranch activities if you prefer some unstructured time and spend your afternoon swimming in the heated pool, wandering the ranch, hiking to the historic graveyard or lounging in one of the inviting Adirondack chairs.
Gather back at the main hacienda at 4:00 PM for afternoon nourishing turmeric tea and share stories about your day so far.
Join your community back in the dining room for dinner, with a roaring fire in the dining room's fire place and another opportunity to meet new friends and get to know your yoga community better.
After dinner, we will enjoy a restorative yoga class or perhaps relax by the bonfire and listen to cowboy poet Ross. Feeling completely relaxed from your day and restorative yoga, you'll retire to your room where you can fall asleep by a fire in your fireplace.
Horseback Riding: If you are a beginning rider, or have years of experience on the saddle, you’ll be in good hands with Lynne Knox, the horse wrangler on the ranch. Lynne grew up on horseback and has taught riding to hundreds of people! You’ll find her gentle nature and exceptional horse sense inspiring as you connect with both yourself and the horse.
Yoga: if you are new to yoga or an experienced Yogi, you will benefit from the yoga classes. Michele teaches a gentle Vinyasa flow class and adapts depending on the experience level of the participants.
Grab your yoga mat, your cowboy hat and boots and come on down!
